My Approach as a Math Tutor
1. Student-Centered Learning
I tailor each session to the student’s level, pace, and goals.
I ask guiding questions to uncover how they think about problems and where gaps might be.
2. Concept Before Computation
I focus on building conceptual understanding before diving into formulas or steps.
For example, before teaching the quadratic formula, I make sure they understand why it works, maybe even derive it with them.
3. Visual and Real-Life Connections
I use diagrams, graphs, or real-world analogies to make abstract ideas more tangible.
Like using pizza slices for fractions or water tanks to explain rate of change.
4. Customized Resources & Practice
I create or recommend personalized practice problems and explain solutions step-by-step.
I check in regularly to see if the material or approach needs to be adjusted.
