About Coretta

“Guiding learners of all ages through Mandarin with patience and clarity.” Hi! I’m a non-native Mandarin speaker with over 15 years of study and 10 years of life and teaching experience in China. I currently teach Early Development Mandarin and love helping both kids and adults learn Chinese in a way that feels natural, fun, and totally doable. Whether you’re a young learner just starting out or an adult curious about Mandarin, I’ll guide you through it step by step—with patience, humor, and real-life tips from someone who’s been there.

About the lesson

Mandarin with a Twist: Learn Chinese from Someone Who Actually Gets It
Hey there! I’m not a native Chinese speaker—and that’s exactly why I might be the perfect tutor for you.

I’ve been through the ups, the downs, the wrong tones, the mysterious characters, and all the “wait… what does THAT mean?” moments of learning Mandarin. And now, I’m here to help you skip the confusion and start making real progress—with a few laughs along the way.

What You'll Get:
Explanations that actually make sense (no confusing grammar-speak!)

️ Speaking practice that won’t make you sweat

Customized lessons for total beginners, curious minds, or semi-fluent dabblers

Fun cultural tidbits, real-life phrases, and yes—we’ll talk about food

A judgment-free zone where messing up is part of the fun

Whether you’re 10, 30, or 73, and just curious about Chinese, I’ll help you learn Mandarin in a way that’s chill, clear, and way less scary than you think. Come for the tones, stay for the terrible jokes and “aha!” moments.

Let’s learn Chinese like humans—not textbooks.
