I am a current Masters student at the University of Glasgow, reading for an MSci. in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry. I mainly give lessons to Scottish secondary school pupils studying for Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths qualifications.
My practical lessons will usually include 5-10 minutes of scales, arpeggios and other technical exercises (as a warm-up). This will be followed by 5-10 minutes of sight-reading exercises. This will be followed by approximately 30 minutes of repertoire/exam pieces (at the choice of the student). Finally, there will be around 10 minutes of aural exercises.
The way I see it, every student is unique. Everyone has different interests and specialities, but they also have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to education and different subjects. The sooner a tutor can understand what a student is struggling with, the sooner they can offer guidance in a way that helps the student to overcome them.
I am experienced in tutoring students of all ages and abilities. I am friendly, approachable, punctual, and I believe students do best when given encouragement and set reasonable goals. Please contact me if you want friendly tuition in science or maths.

I believe that every pupil should be able to learn in a judgement free environment. This will help them further their knowledge without fear of making mistakes, and the student would be able to carry this ethos forward in their future career. I believe that a student should be able to ask questions whenever they feel they need, but I also don't believe the answer should be given straight to them.
I have a communicative approach to my teaching. I strongly believe that reading textbooks or listening to sound recordings alone does not benefit a student in any way and this is why I encourage all my of students to engage in conversation practice on a wide range of interesting and stimulating topics.

My teaching method is to keep things as fun as possible.
