I have limited experience of teaching but from my learning experience I have a wealth of resources in various forms of media that I am familiar with and can recommend for the advancement of Chinese ability in and out of lessons.
I've got a postgrad degree from the University of Glasgow and though I taught my students when I was at high school, my new found knowledge would only enhance my lessons further focusing on combining fun and learning at a suitable pace for the student.
Hello! My name is Chloé Karrer and I'm a French student in Master Fashion& Textile at Glasgow School of Art. I growned up in the suburbs of Paris and lived in Paris for 6 years for my studies. This year, I settle in Glasgow city center and can help you for any french problems: - Help with your french homeworks or just speak with you in a casual/ business way.
With degrees in history, specializing in military and American history as well as Conflict Archaeology & Heritage, I have extensive experience in the academic world. I have tutored people of various ages and pursuing different types of degrees. The way in which I tutor is entirely dependent on the person I am tutoring. After all, everyone learns differently.
Hi , my name is Julien. I am a French native speaker who work and live in Glasgow near the University of Glasgow. After eighth trips in Scotland, I decided to live in Glasgow and teach French to Primary, KS3, IB, GCSE and Adults. Generally, I ask what students want to work and the axes of improvement on which they want to work.
I am a very experienced mathematician who enjoys breathing life into the subject. My background is in secondary education and I understand completely the barriers and difficulties people have with the subject. The main strategy to solve these problems is using clear explanation and lots of examples to illustrate the difficult topics.
I had been a full-time physics teacher at an international school in Shanghai from 2015.5 to 2017.7. I graduated from Fudan University as an English major with two years' physics study background. I used to give IGCSE and A-level physics lessons to Chinese students who take international exams and study abroad. I am very responsible and patient. I have training qualifications for IGCSE.
Hello! My name is Blythe, I am an American PhD student studying at the University of Glasgow. I did my BA in the US in general history with a minor in education, which gives me both teaching experience and a broad background as I have done basic maths, science, psychology, sociology, and English lit.
In the first meeting I would like to gauge the current level and strengths/weaknesses in the subject, focussing specifically on problem areas to outline a lesson/study plan on topics we will work together on to improve. Everybody learns in different ways, which will be taken into account when planning future lessons.
I base each class on a skill rather than a topic, less ‘critical essay’ and more ‘the difference between analysis and evaluation’ - I believe this is more useful and not as vague.
I generally try to tailor my teaching to the student, and this will involve identifying areas that require specific attention, alongside finding out what the student wants to gain from the lessons. A lesson may involve explaining a particular concept, working through examples of its application, allowing the student to work independently, with myself being available to assist if they get stuck.
My teaching method is explaining Physics and Mechanic with real world examples to give a better understanding of the topics. Because in my point of view, the world us can be easily described by Math and Physics rules. I can teach in both English and Farsi.
My teaching methods will be very practical, I have a lot of exercises that were given to me by my teachers and I know that they work. I also have a lot of different music and arrangements that I can give to students of varying levels.
Firstly, I always try to adjust my teaching methods/topics to the requirements of a particular person. I cover all four important areas in languages - reading, listening, writing and speaking. I also teach grammar (which is essential to understanding the Czech language) and vocabulary. I do this by presenting various games, reading articles together and so on.
Bonjour Glasgow ! I am happy to be a new citizen of this wonderful city, and building a french bookstore/café here. I used to teach english to French students in France, so that i would like to work on the other way round now.
I've taught mostly GCSE/Nationals students and ALevels/Highers as well. I focus on forming a friendly relationship to first find out the weaknesses and strengths of my students, so I can understand whether the difficulties they face are conceptual or otherwise.
The base for my teaching are techniques. Firstly, I look into bad habits and what should be changed about it. It's very important as with the right left and right hand techniques we will avoid mistakes during later stages of playing.
Without putting a lot of pressure on myself, I could comfortably give lessons on up to level 5 course structure in Maths. My main focus is to clear the basics and following practical approach by solving as many examples as possible.
Biology can be overwhelming for some students. I prefer to make sure that my students manage to grasp the concept rather than just memorising names. To make it easier, I usually provide case examples of biological components/processes in our surroundings to let them understand the theories by understanding real life examples.
My classes focus on the development of the four key language skills: speaking, writing, reading and listening. However, I put special emphasis on the development of the oral skills by promoting interactive activities.
I have experience in both individual and group lessons. I can teach any level up to Higher English, and offer support in proofreading. I aim to make my lessons as individual as possible and base them around my learners' needs.
My 25- years career in teaching have learnt me one simple rule:enjoy your job by changing people’s live.I believe that I have changed many lives by teaching maths with a positive attitude, great method and efficiency.
I am happy to create spontaneous, relaxed and very effective lessons working your writing, listening and most of all your speaking (you will see a big improvement in weeks). I am open to your preferences and goals, personalising every class depending on your needs and making it easy for you so you have the enthusiasm to express yourself in Spanish without ever feeling self-conscious or blocked.
My teaching method is highly individualized. I start by assessing the skills the the student has already and comparing them to the skills the student needs to have in order to succeed. I then design lessons that will help them gain those skills. I do a lot of hands on work, such as primary sources and writing skills.
My approach towards Design is learning by doing and support the idea of working towards success through practical and realistic project inspirations and methodologies. I believe that if any student comes up to me, his/her vision would dramatically change positively.
The way I see it, every student is unique. Everyone has different interests and specialities, but they also have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to education and different subjects. The sooner a tutor can understand what a student is struggling with, the sooner they can offer guidance in a way that helps the student to overcome them.
I am experienced in tutoring students of all ages and abilities. I am friendly, approachable, punctual, and I believe students do best when given encouragement and set reasonable goals. Please contact me if you want friendly tuition in science or maths.
Adult learners are students that have multiple responsibilities in relation to their professional, personal, social life and to their individual identity, which I understand, on a professional and personal level.
The lessons will vary according to the student's skill level. - I always try to teach from the ground up, starting with simple exercises. - My background is multicultural with a strong emphasis on drama and acting. - This has made my teaching approach to be very friendly, easygoing, and dynamic. Students of all ages have enjoyed the classes and made a clear progress in the usage of the language.
I have a communicative approach to my teaching. I strongly believe that reading textbooks or listening to sound recordings alone does not benefit a student in any way and this is why I encourage all my of students to engage in conversation practice on a wide range of interesting and stimulating topics.
