I've been teaching for over 5 years, mainly Scuba diving and fitness training. Let me tell you, that teaching someone how to scuba when they are afraid of water is very tricky and will only work with confidence and trust.
As an avid learner, I was able to achieve good marks in my high school qualifications and understand what is needed in order to maintain a healthy study regime. My background in biology, from lower high school level to advanced higher, gives me a great understanding of how the exams 'work' and techniques for study.
Hello, I’m a University student studying Biochemistry Msci. I am a very friendly person and have the ability to teach Biology and Chemistry to Higher Level and all core sciences at National 5 Level which include; Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics. Ever since being introduced to biology, physics and chemistry I have developed a passion for molecular and cellular science.
I am a MSc graduate from Heriot Watt University. I am more than happy to give lessons to all levels up to Masters level in Biology. I also have Higher qualifications in Biology (Advanced Higher), Chemistry, Geography, Computing and English and therefore can also provide tutoring to that level. I am very passionate about Science and learning and passing this on.
I have a university degree in 'Marine Biology'. I am currently a private biology tutor in Scotland and also an ESL teacher online. I use live video editing to make my lessons more interactive and interesting.
I appreciate there are several types of learning styles and that everyone is different. I can adapt my teaching style to suit the student and make sure they are learning in a way that is most efficient for them. I am happy to tutor students from primary school, secondary school, college and first year of university.
Teaching biological theory is new for me so I am looking forward to the experience. Currently I train people to carry out procedures, explaining the background information with a hands-on approach.
I'm a Marine Biologist, I have a bachelor and a master degree in Biology and in Marine Biology, respectively.
I use flash cards to improve word association and boost memory as Biology is full of words to memorise. Then to provide perspective I utilise mind maps to give the student an idea of how the concepts connect and interact.
I am a PhD student, researching hormones and the brain at the University of Edinburgh.
I have taught children and teenagers from 7 to 17 years old. I am a very emphatic person, I have taught many children with difficulties at school and I like helping them gain self-confidence by making the subjects easy and fun to understand. I work around every student needs, and focus on their weaknesses while enhancing their strengths. I love teaching.
I tailor my lessons to suit individual students. After an initial meeting to discuss your goals and your learning styles, I will create a term and lesson plan designed to evolve your strengthsband develop your weaknesses in the subject.
I offer lessons to students studying an undergraduate Biological Sciences degree and to high school students studying Biology at any SQA level.
The methods of teaching are self explanatory. The students can understand the concepts in a better way .The subjects will make a grip which will make it easier to understand the topics and learn them by heart. The terminologies will be explained in a better way. The students will have deep impact of self study. It will be easy for them to clarify the doubts.
I base my classes on the core curriculum that you are learning in class - and I make important learning objectives tailored to the subject being studied. We can go over your lesson plans and go from there. Also, I write very useful practice tests and questions - which help solidify what you've been learning and have a tendency to come up on actual exams.
I would recommend in person tutoring as I feel it is much easier to teach and to learn subjects when you are face to face rather than online. I believe and have been told by University Colleges that the way I talk about challenging/difficult subjects makes them vastly easier to understand to both people with or without prior biology knowledge.
I believe that visualising learning content is key and take the quote: "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough" to heart.
I have studied Chinese, Maths, Biology and Chemistry in my high school and it would be my pleasure to share my knowledge with all of you. I aim at teaching in a relaxing and fun way and tailor the lessons according to students' requirements, handouts and practices will be provided if necessary.
Everyone is different, so I aim to adapt my lessons according to the student. My main method of teaching is visual, through creating labelled diagrams with the student so that they are involved in the process. I work on both white boards for quick explanations and also an iPad so that the students can also receive digital diagrams as a study tool.
I am a PhD student at the Institute of Cell Biology, University of Edinburgh willing to help you with your tasks in cellular & molecular biology, anatomy and physiology whether you are at school or a master student.
Currently a 4th year student at Edinburgh University studying Biomedical Sciences (Infectious Diseases) (BSc Hons). Looking to give out biology lessons to high school students who are looking to better understand biology, or to prepare for examinations.
I'm a current PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in Cardiovascular Biology, and I also have a teaching degree. I'm a supportive and dedicated tutor, and I help my students to achieve their goals.
My name is Eram Haider and I graduated from Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia with distinction in biology. I have five years experience tutoring privately and in secondary and higher education.
I like students to be interactive in my classes, therefore my teaching approach consists in holding entertaining discussions, where a question or hypothesis is central to the discussion, and the students have to develop an answer. I keep writing to a minimum, and favour making use of whats already known by the students and their imagination to problem solve.
I am a biomedical sciences undergraduate student at the University of Edinburgh. I am able to teach A-level students, GCSE and SQA students biology and chemistry. I adapt to student psychology and teach in the way that works best whether this be adapting towards teaching those who learn visually, auditory learners or those who understand things by pure logic.
I ensure my students are extremely well prepared for their exams and assessments by reinforcing understanding. I think summative assessments before the exam are essential. Notes and important facts are reinforced. I am approachable and goal orientated.
Hey guys, I'm Sergio, a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh. I did Biochemistry as degree, then MSc Nanoscience and now I'm at the School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. I have studied and got knowledge from biology to chemistry and physics, particularly specialized in physical chemistry, biophysics, statistics for biologists and biochemistry, nanoscience and nanotechnology.
My teaching philosophy is based on making connections between new concepts and prior knowledge and experience to engage the learner and start from a solid foundation of understanding. By connecting new and old information, it is possible to gain a deeper understanding of novel concepts and allows for lateral and critical thinking to develop.
My teaching method involves catering to small groups of students so that I can provide individual attention, I break down complex scientific concepts to easily understandable points and relate it to daily life applications and impacts on health.
Welcome to my profile! I am an experienced tutor, passionate about teaching and would love to have you as one my students. I promise that you will not regret it! I have just completed a PhD in chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. My PhD project consisted of a mixture of analytical chemistry, molecular biology experiments and computer simulations of biological systems.
