I'm an advanced guitarist and give lessons to beginners and intermediate players. My method is quite chilled and relaxed, perfect for those who don't wanna bother with music reading and theory and wanna play songs quickly. We'll focus on a song of your choice to learn the main chords at first and improve it step by step.
I am a creative teacher with a comprehensive and flexible curriculum. I have a good sense of humour too. I teach many styles to all ages and levels. I'm Billy Crabbe, I'm an enthusiastic musician and guitar teacher based in North West London. I have a great passion for music and aim to cater each lesson to the student's needs in order for them to reach their goals.
I give lessons to people of any age and any experience. I like to teach people who have a shared passion for the instrument. I like to use different methods of teaching with different students, for example, if a student expresses an interest in grades, then I cater more towards that. If not, I like to go off the students personal interests in music and lean more towards those in the lessons.
My first approach is finding out what you are interested in musically, what inspires you to learn the instrument, my job is to help you achieve that goal. I also offer basic, easy-to-follow music theory guides which are applicable to your instrument.
I'm looking to tutor anyone who wants to learn acoustic guitar - whether this is a skill you want to develop, you just really want to learn one specific song, or if you want some extra help before taking an upcoming music exam (up to grade 4). My style is pretty relaxed and it'll take some time for us to figure out which learning techniques work best for you.

My methodology always depends on each particular student. The learning process of a child is quite different from an adult's one. However, I consider essential the idea of enjoying while learning which is something applicable to all ages. I have usually worked with the music that the students like so I can turn this music into an exercise for them to practice and acquiring skills.
I have a different teaching method to every student. After a trial lesson I can see what is the best approach and plan accordingly. It all depends on you speed of learning, abilities, experience and time. I wouldn't class myself as a professional and prefer teaching beginners that want to know the basics.

I believe the classroom is a living community and that everyone, from the students, to the parents, must contribute in order to maintain a positive atmosphere. Everyone in the classroom contributes as a student, teacher, and thinker. I learn from students as much as they learn from me. All students are individual and everyone learns in their own unique way.
Varying from student-to-student, I will assess the level of their musical knowledge and practical skills; I will then cater a specific regime of teaching and practice using a combination of theory and practical application. When teaching Classical guitar for beginners I generally follow the Grades of ABRSM as a guideline to progress. I also use ensemble playing from the beginning so the student gains confidence quickly. For jazz there must be an emphasis on harmony in order to understand the structure of a Jazz compositions.
In my opinion, the most important part of learning an instrument is to enjoy playing and be creative. I'll base my lessons on your individual interests, tastes and requirements. I'll keep the right level of challenge in order to keep you steadily progressing.
