In DJing, the rule of 32 describes the standard musical structure of electronic music.

A phrase is a musical section that feels complete, like a sentence in speech.

• In 4/4 time, 32 beats equals 8 bars, which is the most common phrase length.
• Producers design key moments to land on these 32-beat boundaries for maximum impact.
• Starting your blend at phrase boundaries makes mixes sound natural and intentional.

Counting in 32s helps you predict when tracks will change and time your mixes perfectly.

The average price for a DJ lesson in Thornaby is around £30/h.

This rate can vary depending on several factors.

• Your current skill level, from complete beginner to advanced mixing techniques
• Whether your tutor has worked professionally in clubs or festivals
• The length of each session and your weekly schedule
• The format you choose: online, at the tutor's studio, or in your home

Some teachers provide package deals that bring down the price per session. Remote lessons offer flexibility and can be easier on your budget. A first trial lesson is often free or discounted so you can assess the fit.

If you play at clubs, bars, or venues that already hold a PRS licence, you are covered.

PRS for Music collects royalties on behalf of songwriters, composers, and publishers.

• Venues like nightclubs, pubs, and hotels typically have their own PRS licence in place.
• Wedding DJs at venues without music licences should check their legal obligations.
• Streaming on platforms like Twitch or YouTube requires different licensing arrangements.

Always confirm with the venue whether their licence covers your performance before the gig.
