Hello, I am a qualified, secondary school English teacher (BA(Hons) English, PGCE), offering one-to-one, in home tutoring. I cover all aspects of secondary English/English Literature education, including GCSE and coursework/exam prep. I believe students must be comfortable in their surroundings, therefore I travel to them.
I find the most important part of a lesson is having a structure or plan initially. This includes a variety of different activities to facilitate one topic to see which level of learning engages with a particular individual, e.g. independent work, assistance, prompts, games, visual stimuli.
I am a enthusiastic, hardworking and approachable full qualified teacher with a great passion for teaching and helping people realise their potential. I qualified as a History teacher in 2012 and am hugely passionate about my subject. I am currently in the process of completing a MA in Education at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
My teaching methodology varies according to the needs of each pupil. I often tutor one to one, sometimes I tutor in pairs.
I have always been deeply passionate about English language and literature, I'm sure I could read before I could walk! I obviously have my favourites, but I will read and analyse every and any book put in front of me. I have written more short stories than I've had hot meals, and am currently working on my debut novel (among several other pet projects).
I am able to provide help to children and adults of all ages who are looking to improve their English skills whether written, oral or reading. I have experience of one-to-one work with both comprehensive and primary aged children. My teaching style depends entirely upon the person I am working with, as I believe teaching should when possible.
I am a qualified Primary school teacher with over 23 years experience. I recently decided to give up my role as a deputy headteacher due to family circumstances . I have taught across all ages within the primary school sector .
MY teaching method is to get to know my pupils to understand which method is best suited to them. I like to build a rapport with pupils and make lessons interesting whilst also concentrating on content. I like lessons to be structured but with an informal nature.
I adapt my lessons/ sessions to the individual. I like making things fun and easy to understand, especially if a pupil is uncertain on a subject/ topic. I'm very welcoming, and always am open to suggestions. I'm able to help with GCSE's and A-Level, but can do any educational level if needed.
I am an English Literature graduate with two years of experience at mentoring students at high school and undergraduate level. I am a patient and positive teacher, who works at the student's pace and to their specific individual requirements. I am familiar with the GSCE and A-Level syllabus for History and English, with experience in teaching to the WJEC and AQA specifications.
Hi! I am a Cardiff University student studying Philosophy, an avid writer and active contributor to the University newspaper. Having obtained straight A to A* grades as GCSE, I aim to help pupils reach their goals by creating the kind of friendly, encouraging and supportive setting that was key to my learning during GCSEs.
My teaching method is problem solving than practice till get rite..
Large amount of engagement with student, lots of encouragement, repetition for results. Catering for individual, making sessions fun but full of learning.
Pedagogical approaches to the delivery of teaching is vital, beginning with a clear and comprehensive understanding of the core curriculum and how that curriculum might be organized into a scheme of work, supported by high quality lesson plans that promote a successful scheme.
Teaching is individual so I prefer to work one-to-one or in small groups. In this scenario I can meet the learners' needs. If you understand through lecturing - I will lecture, if you understand and grasp that concept better through images - I will have PowerPoints and visuals - I've even been known to use a puppet! Students determine how I teach and whatever it takes, I will do it.
My method is friendly, easy to understand and you'll love it!! I will keep going over things until you 100% understand it.
I have been giving English lessons to all age groups for 15 years. I specialize in the basics such as reading, writing and spelling. On first meeting I go right back to basics to see what the student can do and build on that. It's all about being positive and breaking down barriers.
My teaching method would be to find out what the student is interested in.
My lessons would be catered to the individual student, focussing on what they have issues with as well as what they excel at. The focus would be on the tasks assigned by school, but we can work on other activities if the student the support.
I am a 17 year old looking to improve my skills while helping people to achieve the most they can at school. I am able to provide tutoring in English, French, religious studies, geography and biology to children aged 5-16. This includes preparation for GCSE exams if needed, as well as help transitioning from primary school work to secondary school work.
Hi, i'm a 19 year old student studying Law at Cardiff University. I tutor lessons for those studying English GCSE and above. I aim to make my lessons exciting and engaging as I feel this is the most efficient way to learn. We will work our way through the exam specifications, focusing on areas of weakness in order to achieve your potential. Also happy to tutor first year law students.
My name is Hannah, I'm 22 & I love to learn and help people :) My specialties are the Humanities. I recently graduated from Durham University, where my principal subjects were History and English Literature. However, I am very competent in English Language too.
I have recently graduated from King's College London with a 2:1 BA Hons degree in Geography. I can tutor primary and secondary school students up to GCSE level, following the national curriculum! I am approachable, kind and very patient having helped my 3 younger siblings with their own exams and studies.
I am currently studying English Literature and Media at University and would like to share my knowledge with children who would like extra tutoring. My method of learning is all about adapting, adapting to how the person likes to learn about a subject and what ways are best for them. I give basic lesson structure to cover areas needed to achieve success in the subject.
Lessons will be informative, and fun. I will first ask the student (or parent) for their personal aims and desired outcomes for our lessons (e.g. whether we will be working towards a test, exam, oral presentation, coursework, a particular written style or period, dissertation or thesis techniques, or even simply to master a particular text). These will provide the basis for my lesson preparation.
My teaching method begins with first finding out what method works for you individually. We are all unique, we all work at different paces and therefore I find that a teaching session fit to suit you is what really makes the difference. After that, I find out what the key issues you are struggling with, and we build up from there.
I have experience of teaching from Early Years up to Year 6 in all subjects. I like to make learning fun and accessible for all abilities. I would tutor Junior aged children, especially children who are falling behind in specific areas.
I have an English Literature Degree from Swansea University. I also have experience of teaching English to students of a variety of ages and levels. I am able to help students with reading, writing, literacy, phonics amongst other things. I am very patient, and willing to tailor each lesson around individual students and their needs.
