I'm a Durham University Student giving ESOL lessons to students of all ages and abilities, I mainly have experience with younger learners but teaching adults isn't a problem at all! I'm happy to structure lessons around my students' ideas and try to involve your interests as much as possible, making the learning experience as realistic and rewarding as possible.
My teaching method is mainly conversational. I do like to use role play with the aim of increasing the lexicon using collocates and morphology.I also like to use videos without subtitles, I then speak to the students to find out about their comprehension before replaying the video with subtitles, then explaining and new vocabulary that they have encountered.
I am offering lessons to students of all levels, but in the past I have generally taught from beginner to upper intermediate. With intermediate students I like to assign a task and then work through it with students, addressing any problems or confusion, or building on any language points. I then establish a discussion point and use it to practice the learning point from the lesson.

Teaching for me is a lifelong learning process which will remain with me for the rest of my life. Through teaching a teacher also grows as I have. Teaching has taught me how to use different strategies to suit the individual student, how all students have different needs, goals, and aspirations.
I am about to enter my fifth year of teaching in Key Stage 2. I believe that all lessons should be fun and engaging whilst providing an appropriate level of challenge. I base my classes based on the learners needs, each student is different. it is important to create a safe environment for all students so they feel comfortable when learning. I want learners to succeed and their own pace.
I carry out an initial assessment of my learner to determine the specific areas they need to work on in order to achieve their goal. I discuss with the learner and agree on a learning journey. I then plan my lessons based on the identified needs. I quickly establish a rapport with the learner so that we maintain a positive and engaging relationship throughout the learning journey.
