My teaching method is to start with figuring out what the student can already do and then teach and help them with everything else
I love to approach the guitar from a different angle with all of my students. I use alternative methods such as open tunings to help beginner and intermediate students approach the guitar more creatively. This helps them feel good about how they sound and become inspired to play more. The more you play the better you get.
I base my lessons upon gaining basic skills and learning some melodies at first and then progress on to learning music theory however i will always split lessons up so that me and the student will go through something they're excited to learn and practice.
Everybody wants something different out of these lessons so I plan them accordingly. You will learn theory, scales, chords and advanced techniques but it’s all done whilst playing your favorite songs. Whit Guitar/Bass you will also learn maintenance from cleaning, tuning using ears only to upgrading pickups and adjusting the action using various techniques.

Hello! My name is Helea, I am a guitar player/composer/singer/bass player who has more than 12 years of experience in performing, song writing and working in production as well as teaching one to one. I teach all music styles in electric and acoustic guitar ,harmony and theory and sight reading to children and adults and I'm also CRB/DBS checked.
As a tutor my focus is on the application and execution of musical ideas on a number of instruments. I have Played internationally (Europe/USA) with both Guitar and Drum kit as well as compose for television and film. Along side this I have recently achieved a First class (hons) in Popular Music and Recording.
I teach guitar and bass to all levels of ability and can cover almost any style. Filthy funk bass lines, atmospheric guitar improvisation, the fundamentals of jazz or blues, composition and music theory, performance psychology and anything else besides: I can help you explore any aspect of music.
My teaching method is based on individual profiling and requirements in line with the current skill level of the player. I do also provide insight and explanation of the nature of harmony and music theory in general in conjunction with song writing techniques and attention to the natural setting of the instrument within the band.
My approach will differ depending on what each individual student wants to achieve. For a student that seriously wants to play classical, I would enforce the same technical and musical framework that I was brought up on. For students who are looking for something more relaxed, I can easily adapt to what they’re looking to get out of lessons.
My aim is to encourage the natural enthusiasm in all my students, whatever their musical style or taste and to give my students the key musical skills needed for them to progress at their own pace. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach classical, electric (from rock to jazz) and acoustic guitar.
I base my classes on what the student wished to gain from the lessons (This can be theory, Technique, Improvisation or educating on tone). I aim to make lessons fun and musical. Lessons will usually focus on implementing techniques to a song rather than just working on technical exercises all the time.
I base my classes on the students music preferences. I listen to what kind of music you want to be able to play in advance then will teach relevant technical skills and practice methods so you can shred those songs you've always wanted to learn.
I like to offer students lessons with a fun and unique learning program and I teach all levels from beginner to advanced. I am happy to teach students of all ages and am willing to adjust the format of the lessons in order to suit the students specific needs.
I encourage pupils to learn by playing pieces that interest them. By using the latest technology, they are able to play along with accompaniment tracks, or to record themselves playing. I ensure lessons are engaging and stimulating to encourage rapid development.
My methodology is based on essential foundation skills carefully adapted to an individuals personal needs, age, aspirations and capabilities.
I try to keep my lessons as fun and as practical as possible, for example, we will learn a song/scale/piece of music etc in as much detail as YOU want, then, I will offer the option to explore the theory behind the playing, and even the history of a certain instrument or genre of music, I tailor my lessons entirely around what my students want to learn.
