Hello! My name is Jojo I'm a 2nd-year history student who is offering 1 on 1 lessons for secondary and GCSE students who are struggling with history. My techniques for teaching will be very practical and will be tailored to the student's needs as I will ask them to take a test on their preferred learning methods so I know what would be best in helping them to achieve the grade they want.
I approach lessons in an informal manner, opening with a conversational tone to encourage a free flow of ideas, then following with a brief lecture on the topic of the day, and closing with a question and answer session. Before the end of the session students will be encouraged to ask questions I will find difficult to answer so as to encourage critical and creative thinking.
I can tutor a variety of levels from primary school to undergraduate. Whether you need any extra help with your weekly reading or if you need guidance on how to structure your thesis - I am your first point of call! I have recently graduated from university with a first in English Literature and History, and therefore I am well-qualified in this position and used to interdisciplinary work.
Experienced at teaching for Edexcel exams. Very familiar with topics such as the American West, History of medicine,Tudors, modern British History etc. I've taught both GCSE and A Level students. Have been doing so for around fifteen years. Regarded as very good working one to one.
I base my classes on topics around a historic event or trend and explore the reasons behind a specific phenomenon, tracing the history back to its logical origins, giving an in-depth analysis in the process.
Making learning patterns, events and processes in an way that is to encourage learning in a fun and responsive way, to help remember the facts and help understand processes. Sometimes just having a conversation, poster work, actions or role play can help increase a child's learning processes.
I am a primary school teacher of over 20 years experience, and am committed to stretching, challenging and supporting the individual child so they can flourish and shine. - Which subject(s) do you teach? English is my specialty but I can teach all subjects in the Primary curriculum and have a solid understanding of how young children learn.
I teach in an engaging and innovative manner. My lessons focus on enquiry based questions and have a starter main and plenary structure. Assessment for learning is a key part of my classes and knowledge will be built upon and tested. At KS4 & 5 this includes exam style questions discussed and modelled.

I am currently studying history (MRes) at the Univeristy of Portsmouth. I provide lessons to undergraduates and A-level students. Lessons will help improve essay writing skills and assist in developing sound historical arguments. The student will write a small essay for each session.
My teaching method revolves around and is tailored to each individual student; first understanding the best method for a student to learn and continuing from a point that they are comfortable. I focus on teaching at GCSE and A Level and am familiar with the examination structures.

David is warm and friendly in his approach, but he is prepared to challenge students when required. He marks homework effectively and promptly.
I give lessons to GCSE level students(Year 9-11) I give lessons designed to help and work alongside what is being covered within their school classes. In terms of methodology I prefer to teach in the way that is best for the group or for the individual student.
Currently studying at the open University, this has really opened my mind towards self discipline dedication and time management, i would love to share knowledge with anyone in any subject, because everyone has something different to offer. Everything you learn and read in life you remember, perhaps not consciously at the needed time, but some point in life you recall that information.
