My teaching method is looking at past papers and setting out perfect answers for these. I set my students homework to complete questions and in the following tutoring session we would go over this and correct and improve. This really helps the students get prepared for the exam and know the formula for how to answer a question to achieve a high level grade.
Students often know more than they know, if it is topic students have studied but cannot grasp then allow them to explain it first. Then from that point I can effectively fill in the gaps in their knowledge.
