Why Take up Kickboxing?

There are so many heart problems that affect our health, including, heart failure, heart attack and high blood pressure. In kickboxing there are a lot of exercises that improve how our hearts pump blood and heaving of the lungs. The exercises are such as aerobic, anaerobic, jumping rope, jogging, sprinting and circuit training.

Learn how to defend yourself

You might be on your way home and accidentally get robbed. Imagine being bullied in school or worse, maybe even in your adulthood. Kickboxing is a very versatile martial art that will teach you many basics especially when it comes tousing your hands and feet.

It is a great energy boost

When engaging kickboxing, you are breathing hard and sweat out toxins due to the high energy demanding cardio routines. This will dramatically increase your energy levels.

Improve Your Flexibility and in Turn, Improve on Balance

You might be that person who is constantly falling on wet or icy sidewalks. There is a lot of stretching in kickboxing which makes you limber, avoiding injuries in daily life. When one is flexible, it means he can be able to shift his weight and hence gain better balance.

It is a Full Body Workout

When we think of kickboxing we just think of striking. But in mastering any martial arts you have to do a lot of fitness exercises such as sit ups, planks, jumping rope and push-ups. There is a lot of weight training exercises, isometric exercises and even resistance exercises. Not only does it make you strong very quickly, but also benefits all muscles especially arms, legs and the core.

It is A Good Way to Relieve Stress and Rage

Instead of carrying a lot of baggage inside you, kickboxing allows you to become active and crazy at least once in a while. I would prefer to let out my anger on a 300-pound bag or a training dummy, instead of going to therapy or anger management classes. It is a good way to get over daily life depression and stresses.

The Learning Process

Our methodology is simple. It is to treat everyone as an individual and work at individual starting points. By this we tailor our program to individual students' needs and interests. It enables us to set goals and objectives in order to measure progress. To develop progressive sparring and effective self-defense, we balance traditional approaches with combat theories and martial arts philosophy. We use a more relaxed and informal method. We do this under the principle that a person’s skill set is the only combat valuable, that is under their full control. You carry and stay with it throughout your  lifetime. To speed up development and keep everything fun and interesting, we use archaic weapons as a training aid. This has proven to work as it brings out immediate application of effective self-defense in our students.

The most commonly used order of events is a warm up, then basic techniques, then sparring techniques and finally form. The warm up is basically deep breaths to oxygenate the blood, then some side steps, grapevine, a little bit of jumping and toe topping. From there you can move on to more complex and involving moves like house punches, jabs. roundhouse kicks, power punches, front kicks with forward leg, front kick with rearward leg, and more. Like every other sport, there are several rules that we also teach. These rules are formulated to protect your health and safety, as well as that of other players.
