At university I have held three different roles involving maths work, Student Advocate (group or individual support for those who need to improve their grades), Mathematics Outreach team (working with all students, particularly focussing on exceptional students who require additional mental stimulation), and volunteering for Action Tutoring (1-1 mentoring for GCSE students).
I would normally ask students to bring a topic or any questions from a topic they have found difficult. I would discuss the basis of the topic with the students and go through more questions within that topic to ensure they gain a full understanding.
I can help and tutor any student studying mathematics in Lincoln.
I offer lessons to GCSE physics and maths students looking to support their studies, consolidating knowledge and recapping topics students did not fully understand during school lessons. I teach the principle teachings and consolidate knowledge with practice questions to ensure understanding.
With my qualifications so far I feel confident in teaching up to GCSE level. Lessons will be tailored to each individuals preferences as I feel that it would be beneficial to the individual.
I am just about to begin year 13 (upper sixth) so I am very aware of all the different methods of teaching that I have experienced throughout my school career. I am also very aware of the things I find most effective and things that don’t work for me.
My aim is to broaden the students' understanding of mathematical ideas and concepts in order to help them recognise the solutions to maths problems. Similar to how 26 letters make up the English language, these mathematical rules allow us to find the answers to whatever questions we're asked, whether they be proof, algebra, geometry, or trigonometry.
I priortise teaching topics that the student finds most difficult, however I will go through the whole spec with them to secure any imperfections etc.
I generally learn best through a mixture of active teaching, creating content materials and regular testing, so I will supply teaching and testing, and help create extra revision materials. I'm happy to give lessons to students at and below the same level as me, which is presently A level.
Knowing the content is great, but having industry experience is even better; I am able to explain concepts and complex ideas in a novel way providing my students with a fresh and more meaningful understanding of the maths and science which they are learning. I have worked in engineering consultancies, automotive manufacturers in the UK and Germany and freelance all over the UK.
I teach maths to KS3, KS4 and level-A students. I prepare my lesson according to student(s) needs and ability. I use several resources in my lesson which not only engage my students but also help them to understand the topic as well.
I teach up to and including GCSE level students. I do this by discovering my students individual learning style (as everybody learns differently) and try to tailor my teaching to suit the student. I have many methods for each subject I teach so can always try something else if you don't understand.
I prefer doing one-to-one or small group mentoring and focusing on each individual student to ensure they fully understand what is going on in the lesson.
I adapt my teaching method depending on what kind of class I have had thus far. With the higher ability pupils always encouraged to investigate and get the answers themselves and lower ability pupils encouraged and supported through the problems with appropriate scaffolding. I am well versed in working with both types of pupils due to the experience I have had at my schools.
This is my first time tutoring anyone but hopefully it would be good from a students perspective. I do not have any practical experience tutoring but i have helped out at school with younger kids.
I am a mathematics with philosophy student who is interested in 1-2-1 lessons with students completing GCSE maths. My teaching style varies student to student and is suited to there needs. I believe that completing many example questions and mock papers is the best way to master a topic.
My teaching method is to ensure a pupil has grasped the concept before developing further this is to ensure learning is concrete. I thrive for the moment a pupil achieves the best they can in that subject area. I vary my teaching method where required to get the best most efficient results.
I am hoping to teach up to GCSE level. I can help with any topics and will base lessons around what you find difficult. I am a calm and patient friendly person who will explain everything in as many ways needed to help you to understand.
I believe in understanding content and then applying it to the exam context. I believe this is the route to my success in past examinations, something I am enthusiastic to share with my students.
My teaching method involves patience and an easily understood way of giving information, mostly studying side by side with the student, reason that only allows me to tutor one student at a time.
I adopt a student centred approach and deliver the topic to suit your leaning style.
Maths sometime is very complicated and can not be fully explained, however, I will do my best to support students understand the methods and formula required to achieve the answer. I am friendly, patience and confident in my calculation. I am looking forward to help students from GCSE level and below to be better at maths whilst finding its fun and interesting.
My approach to teaching is to involve you as much as possible, we will outline areas you excel in and then those you need to work in most. This means instantly we will be able to start working towards your target grade, I am flexible with tutoring sessions and prepare recourses to suit individual needs.
Student led with a twist. Following your own development path and aspirations, exploring topics of interest that have relevance to your field of study are key for understanding and most important retention of knowledge. Some seek specific help to direct cope with examinations, some want to help those around them. Whatever your goal is give it a try.
I am a student studying in the UK. I give lessons to GCSE and AS Level students. I am an experienced tutor, as I have been giving face to face tuition for the past 2 years.
