BScHons(Chem)BAHons(Maths)PGCE - How much do you charge? I charge, £25 for GCSE and £25 for A level. - Where do you teach? I teach at home in Branston near Lincoln.
I can help and tutor any student studying mathematics in Lincoln.
I will base my lessons around the student's need, including aspects of visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning. Lessons will include learning objectives at the beginning of lesson, and review at end to confirm achievement of objectives. It will be an interactive process, ensuring that the student feels confident and comfortable in the environment.
From experience, the best way to teach is to tailor the style of the lesson to the student's needs. I aim to make every lesson personal, and inject my own humour and personality to make the subject material come to life. I found the mathematical side of physics at university very challenging.
As a tutor I would focus on the needs of my students and the subject areas in which they are least confident and require the most assistance in, putting all my effort in to help them achieve their goals. Furthermore, I would make sure they are happy with all areas of the subject not just their least confident.
I want to understand what you're struggling with and get the best out of you. I have been in situations where I've struggled in areas and studied A level subjects while pursuing my foundation degree. We can work together to succeed and get an understanding of where you want to be in the future career wise.
I start by understanding the individual. I identify parts of their learning which is floored and then often go back to basics in those fields. Quite often students struggle because they don't understand concepts which are assumed to be prior knowledge, I take the time to go through this and build their confidence and make their weaknesses in to strengths.
I am a self confessed Geek who loves learning and helping to enthuse learners with a similar passion. I believe that all students are unique and adapt my tuition style to meet their individual needs. I have high expectation of myself and my learners and have an excellent success rates.
My teaching methods change and developments depending on the pupil, however I do like to start with a test paper to judge what level they are at from when I start helping
I teach each topic by what the student is having the most trouble with, helping them with their class work and homework!
I base all of my tutoring from the specific needs of the student. I get to know strengths, and provide adequate practice; I get to know a student's weaker areas, and provide the resources to turn them into their strengths. I work using past papers, as well as questions tailored to the student.
I'm soon to be studying mathematics at University of Lincoln and would be able to tutor GCSE level or below mathematics over Skype or online messaging (transport would be an issue due to limited funding).
I can relate to personal experience, and as well as providing you with the tools and advice for success in the exams, I can develop your mathematical skills to the highest GCSE Level. I know what to expect from these exams and these can be extremely beneficial to you as a student.
As a tutor I aim to deliver clear, structured tuition by breaking topics down and focusing on building a strong baseline understanding of these topics before developing your knowledge and intuition on these topics. During lessons I plan to use a variety of techniques that I use as part of my own studies such as using visual learning techniques and fully worked examples.
I cover the topics required comprehensively with an emphasis on clarity and not proceeding until the student fully grasps the concepts at hand. I assess where the gaps in the student’s knowledge lie and then focus lessons around these gaps. Where a more general approach is required I teach with a focus to covering the fundamentals and then building on that knowledge to teach advanced ideas.
I can help with revision for GCSE's by working through problems and detailing different methods to reach answers in Maths and Science to ensure that the subject matter is fully understood. I am friendly and willing to go over anything more than once to ensure you fully understand the topic.
My teaching method is very adaptive depending on the audience. I like to figure out how the pupils grasp concepts, visually or practically. I generally begin teaching by figuring out how much of a subject is understood and to what level of detail, and then perhaps prepare resources for the next class meeting.
Hi, I'm Olivia! I'm currently studying Architecture at the University of Lincoln. I have a passion for Maths and Physics and would love to tutor students to help them develop confidence, competence and excellence in these subjects.
I am a maths graduate from Nottingham Trent University and am a maths tutor for all levels of Mathematics, ranging from KS1 to A Level mathematics. I give lessons currently to a few students from KS2 up to A Level mathematics.
My aim in lessons is to help the student feel confident with the topics that are taught in order to allow them to be more independent when it comes to solving problems. I am flexible in my approach to tutoring and will tailor the way I teach to each student's needs.
I prefer doing one-to-one or small group mentoring and focusing on each individual student to ensure they fully understand what is going on in the lesson.
I believe it is important to tailor sessions to the individual needs of the student. It is a useful aspect of one-to-one tutoring that we can focus on what the student is struggling with and move on to something else until they are ready. It is also important to try and make it fun and engaging.
My teaching method is adaptive to the student, I feel it’s important to access how they work, in order to be most effective. I also think the teaching of revision techniques is important for learning in the long term. Positivity is key, I want students to believe they are good at something and they can achieve great grades, they just need to learn the tools and techniques in order to do so.
- Classes Every student has a programme that is built just for them. They concentrate on getting to grips with topics that they are covering in school whilst also working on a parallel thread that is put together to fill any gaps that may exist in their core skills. * The MagiKats programme supports the National Curriculum. * More than tutor 'hot-housing' and more than learning by rote.
I can adapt to many different teaching methods including discussing past papers and then focusing on topics which seem to be an issue and can provide work tailored to suit each student the best way in order to build confidence
An experienced teacher of over 15 years wishing to support learners in the local area. A committed tutor who believes that all children are enriched through learning, regardless of background and circumstances.. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach the the core skills of reading, writing and mathematics for children aged between 7 to 14.
I would normally ask students to bring a topic or any questions from a topic they have found difficult. I would discuss the basis of the topic with the students and go through more questions within that topic to ensure they gain a full understanding.
I like to begin by judging whether the student is at, i.e. what level they are currently working towards and the improvement they would like to make and how likely they are to make such an improvement. I start by seeing their basic understanding of concepts and particular topics, for example Poetry within English, before working towards improving this understanding.
