As I am a current student I know exactly how a student would like to be helped when a topic seems difficult. My method of teaching would be explaining the content using diagrams and flow charts etc, using text books to help you make notes, doing a lot of questions from text books and past papers.
I have been tutoring for 8 years now to countless kids at all levels of education. I've learned to adapt my method of teaching to suit each student personally and achieve the desired grade or higher and in many cases have succeeded.
I base my teaching on understanding the basics, because I believe if you have a strong foundation, you can attempt any question.
I approach each pupil dependant upon their needs, build on concepts that they are familiar with and use methods that are best for each student. For example some pupils might prefer visual aids whereas others may prefer descriptive examples. Everyone is unique and everyone learns their own way, I will attempt to find what that is and nurture it to the best of their ability.
Each session I introduce a new structure in code i.e. reading from a file or algorithm and encourage each student to apply this within their project. An individual's project is encouraged to be on a theme of their choosing e.g. a money manager tool would still need a database of sorts as would a holiday planner. Both might need form validation.
To be a great tutor, I believe you must have patience and respectful tone. It is essential to make sure the student doesn't feel belittled and to try to see where the problem lies in the understanding. I have always been good at Math from my GSEC honours and College degree and even in College my lecturer tried to persuade me into continuing the subject but I couldn't, because of my career path.

I'm a second year student studying Mathematics and Finance at the University of Leeds, currently averaging 80%. I base lessons around understanding key concepts of the syllabus, then doing numerous exam style questions to re-inforce knowledge and to build confidence so students are ready to achieve high marks in the exams.

I studied the O levels in Singapore and A levels in the UK. However, I only recently graduated so I can very much understand the frustrations of a student when you do not understand certain concepts and principles. As a previous maths geek I'm sure I'll be able to help you cope better with your work in school and your preparation for the upcoming examinations.
I believe students become productive when they learn through real live scenarios. I try to relate all the concepts of Mathematics to the real world examples and try to explain the real practical need and use of these concepts.
Teaches maths in a way in which a student understands, short cuts around some of the techniques you see in your typical class, offers help to understand concepts and ways for pupils to check their answers themselves quickly and efficiently.
I give lessons up to GCSE level. I will help students focus on their weakest areas first ensuring they know the necessary skills for their specific exam board. Each lesson I aim to address a different area of maths until a comprehensive knowledge is provided, or longer periods on areas of real difficulty.
I am a recent Biomedical Sciences graduate who has studied Maths for most of her life. I graduated in July 2017 with 2:1 in my BSc (Hons). I have studied Maths up until A-Level and Biology well into my degree. I am able to tutor kids from primary school all the way through to GCSE's. In my GCSE's I was within the top 20 highest GCSE results in my school; I got 1 A*, 11 A's and B.
Every session I have, I plan for at least 1 hour before-hand to tailor my teaching with how my students learn, their strengths and weaknesses and also their interests (to keep the sessions engaging).

I personally believe that every student has different way understanding. So my strategy starts with basics of any topic whether with power point presentation or verbally as per the need. Also i believe in task work because only verbal communications are not enough until we do it practically. So with some interesting i will keep my lecture end.
Socratic which is based on probing the student in discovering. As a teacher I do set the scene for students to find best methods for them to learn in different ways and the discoveries will motivate them to learn more.
My teaching method is based on the intrinsic philosophy that mathematical studies possess. Understand theory via (counter-)examples and remembering it through them, saves you both energy and time. Each topic is approached differently, while taking into account the background and level of each individual.
I specialise in teaching years 7 to 13 Maths. I believe the key to effective tuition in engagement. In my lessons, students are encouraged to ask questions and get involved with the logical thinking behind the topics at hand. I also think that the best way to learn Maths is to practice, practice, practice.
My approach to tutoring depends entirely on the student and their individual needs. Maths is a subject that is shaped by a student’s individual perspective. Sometimes this perspective is the barrier to understanding and sometimes it’s the key to it. I’m here to help determine the difference. I’ve taught at all levels, from school to university, and to all abilities as well.
I give lessons to students from primary school years to AS level mathematics. During lessons, I like to do interactive learning and make maths easy for students through repetitive learning and practising which is the key to success in maths at any level.
My name's Tillie and I'm in my first year of uni studying Maths and Management. This will be my first time properly tutoring, however, in school I was always happy to help anyone who needed it and sometimes stayed back to tutor the younger years.
Hi, I am a second year geophysics student at the University of Leeds. I am offering online tutoring via Instant Messaging or Video Calling to gain experience and to help out younger students the same way I was helped out during this period. Feel free to contact me regarding any details.
I am a mechanical engineering student and have great passion in Physics. Not Only would I like to teach you the maths and physics to the level you wish to up to AS level, but do maintain your interest in these subjects while having a deep understanding of the materials.
I believe, there are abundant methods that one can teach mathematics as efficient as one can desire. For me, however, I ensure to find the most effective approach taking to account the learners needs and or difficulties, e.g., One to one base learning methods, pair or group strategies, practical student based methodology, etc.
I like to make my sessions feel informal and as relaxed as possible, in this environment I feel that any student I have is able to perform to their full potential. I will never forget the first time I went to my tutors house at 16, only to sit in a rather unwelcoming room and get very little work done.
I help my students to enhance their exam confidence and perfect areas they might be struggling with, to develop practical examination skills, by working through practice questions and mock exams. This highlights weak areas we go through during tuition sessions.
I approach each topic individually to the student whether they are a visual learner or another form. More time will be spent on topics which the student struggles in and regular tests provided for ongoing progress reports. I ask children to look at their work they have done in previous school lessons and find areas they have found tricky to then work on.
