Schools and universities across the globe base the education system around exams, simply because they are the easiest and most effective way of assessing a students progress and understanding of the material. However, exams do not reflect true understanding because a lot of information taught during term cannot be assessed using examinations.
I start with basic concepts of the subject and help practice through different problems, daily life examples and text book questions. Also help in the homework and take that as a baseline to build the concepts of the subject. I have working knowledge of teaching through classroom boards or private tuition through joint sittings.
I am offering classes for students of all ages and abilities up to A-Level standard. As a general rule, the sessions will focus on problem solving and learning through trial and error, however, as every student is unique, each class is tailored to the individual student, playing to their strengths and weaknesses in the subject.
I aim to focus on covering each topic of a subject in depth whilst also emphasising those all important exam techniques. It's important, however, to make sure students don't get bored of a topic simply because they do not understand it.
I am a friendly maths graduate from the University of Exeter, looking to share my maths knowledge! I spent my last summer in the USA, teaching boys aged 8-18 a variety of sports and skills at summer camp. I've helped my younger sister (17) through her Maths GCSE and starting her A levels, and enjoy sharing my skills on the piano with her and her friends.
I tailor my lessons to the individual student, by first reviewing the material, finding gaps in their knowledge and teaching to those gaps. As well as theory lessons, I give lots of questions so that students understand how to answer questions in the exam. I can tutor up to and including GCSE level and can offer advice for A-level students.
Firstly I would like to arrange a short session to find out what the student would like to get out of the sessions and what they struggle with particularly, so I know how to approach each session and can formulate a clear plan. If necessary I follow the curriculum in methodically to ensure a thorough understanding of the subject but some areas may need more attention.
My teaching methodology would be to describe/explain some content/method in a fun and memorable way Then to see if the student can use this knowledge is some short questions. Then I will develop or apply the knowledge/method. I will do this in a way that is grabbing for the student.
I am a patient and sensitive tutor able to adjust my teaching to the needs of the pupil. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Maths at Key Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5 - Tell me about your qualifications.
- Classes The Kumon programme enables all children to study work at the right level for them, based on their individual ability. They are supported and observed by the Instructor and class assistants to guide them towards independent study. This means each child can attend one or two classes per week on a "drop-in" basis for approximately 30-40 minutes per subject studied.

I find it best to take a friendly, engaging and encouraging. I try to relate all that I teach to real life examples to obtain maximum interest from my pupils. I work n an individual basis setting realistic goals based on each individual. I will push those capable further and further, but understand and enjoy working with those who require additional support.
I approach each topic with a new perspective, everyone learns differently and so I will adapt to the student and what they work best with.
My aim is to provide a lesson which will not only work through examples of a question but explain what you need to do to solve certain equations and more importantly where the methods come from to solve them yourself.
I believe any student is capable of achieving a high grade in GCSE Maths. Maths tends to be a subject which people often wrongly suggest you have to have a natural born affinity in order to do well.
As a teacher and person, I am extremely friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and caring. Fun and humour are key ingredients to each of my lessons, although I value patience and empathy as some of the most important qualities in a teacher. While I hope to push students to do their very best and reach their full potential, I recognise that this means meeting different needs in different ways.
I know that personally I learn best and am most engaged when I am active in completing tasks, and this is why I aim to make my lessons as interactive as possible! I think practice, practice and more practice is the only way to really improve and get to grips with something.
My method:- First I cover all the basics of a topic - Next I derive and prove all the equations you with need for the topic so you remember them better -Finally i move you on to questions to hone your skills at implementing the knowledge i have taught you
I understand that learning is a difficult process and therefore I am very understanding when it comes to learning. I support students in the learning process and try not to intimate them but instead I try to build their confidence up. I talk through examples slowly until the student is confident that he can understand it.
Hi, my name is Eugen and I teach and have taught German, Mathematics and Physics for over 2 years now. Please feel free to browse through my Q&A. - Which subject(s) do you teach? German, Mathematics and Physics at GCSE level. - Tell me about your qualifications.
I'm happy to teach anyone who needs extra, one on one, or small group, assistance with: Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related subjects. In personal tutoring the teaching methods used reflect the individual needs of the student being taught, and what they're seeking to achieve.
Having been always told I was bad at maths as a kid, it took a lot of determination and hard work to get my grades. In my opinion, the reason why a lot of people struggle with maths is due to the fact that they believe they aren't talented. My approach to teaching therefore is to deconstruct the challenges that maths offers, building confidence and cementing the skill set needed to pass exams.
I give lessons to Key stage 4 and below and adopt a relaxed yet informative teaching style in which focus is places on understanding of principles rather than memorising of information. Lessons will be informal and onus will be placed in the student to think for themselves.
I am currently 20 years old and studying for a degree in pure mathematics at the University of the West of England. I have three A-Levels (maths, physics and accounting) - I also have a Certificate of Higher Education in Accounting and Finance from the University of Swansea.
