Im particularly good at teaching via speaking although I am adaptable to the best method of the individual I am tutoring. I myself used a large mix of methods in my A-Levels to learn the content so know a variety of methods to help people memories and understand the content.
I enjoy one on one teaching, listening to the student to see what they are struggling with and tackling that, as well as focusing on subjects/topics
An experienced teacher and mentor, currently working in Secondary Education teaching History and Humanities. I enjoy working closely with students and their parents in order to increase knowledge, skills and confidence in their chosen subject (History, RE, Politics or Philosophy and Ethics) setting targets and reviewing progress frequently.
I have been a qualified Secondary school teacher since 2008. I have taught across the different age ranges and across a number of subjects. I have a Masters in Education and a degree in Religious Studies and Social Ethics. I can provide handouts and activities which I will then mark and send back. I can also provide PowerPoint presentations with information.
I have taught in a range of schools varying from inner city to more rural schools. My subject specialism is as a Teacher of Humanities which entails teaching Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics and History.
I believe that I can teach humanities subjects in an enjoyable and engaging way to help you achieve the best marks that you are capable of. Lessons will combine taught as well as interactive aspects to balance explanation and understanding. Having just graduated from University I am still very tuned into the secondary school syllabus as well as University level modules as well.
My teaching method is based on student-centred learning. My lessons are tailored to the student. The student raises an issue and my job is to help them use the tools they need in order to solve that issue.
I am friendly and easy-going, but more than able to push my tutees. I can give lessons to any level up to and including degree standard. I am happy to adapt my lesson style to what the tutee likes, but it is useful to begin with questions, and finish with a form of test.
