My teaching style has adopted a humanistic approach, which means I think the learner should be at the centre of the learning process. I believe in tailored teaching, to the specific student, and so my teaching style actually varies and adapts, based on the student I'm working with. I think this is the most effective learning environment.
My teaching methods often involve resources that I have created myself using different sources such as the textbook provided by the exam board, online websites and various other books. I often use a lot of practice questions as well as past exam papers for familiarity with the questions.
Sociology, as a theory based subject, can be quite difficult to grasp as a new GCSE or A-Level option that many students aren't used to. Textbooks can be too academic, and the content can be too overwhelming, yet I aim to break down the difficult concepts in sociology through discussion based and visual learning to aid the transition for struggling students.
Having completed Psychology A-Level, I am currently studying Psychology at university, thus I am prepared to teach all levels below degree level. My experiences of studying the subject have permitted me to comprehend how lessons need to be tailored in order to understand exam technique and structure, as well as the best ways of learning content.
I am a university student, doing a degree in psychology. I give lessons to GCSE, AS and A-level students. I like to make my lessons interactive and interesting by applying it to the real world, instead of it being entirely essay-based. Do you want a boring lesson with lots of essays? If yes, then stop reading.
I have a student-centered approach to teaching where the student and teacher have an equally active role in the learning process. I like to break down information and come up with fun and easy ways to understand and remember it and tailor my teaching to each individual.
I am an MSc Cognitive neuroscience student at UCL, I have a degree in Psychology and have more than 3 years experience in working with students from KS3-KS5. A typical lesson with me consists of 3 steps. A starter test to assess initial knowledge, which is usually a past paper on the topic that will be covered in the lesson.
I teach using a range of different methods which will hep you arrive at the same answer. It will be your decision to explore and choose which one you like. For example, creating presentations, resources, doing time based exercises or group talks. The important thing is that my lessons will be tailored to your sociology exam syllabus.
Currently an A level student, I got 11 GCSE’s (A*-C) including maths and english. My teaching method would be based on my notes on the topic, I would also provide handout sheets and questions for the student to complete. I have an easy and an understanding approach to situations. I would make sure that the student fully understands the content of the topic before we move on.
My teaching is effective, fun and engaging I always encourage my students to reach the best outcome. I am very practical in my approach and give useful memory tricks in remembering information fast and effectively to pass exams and get the best grade.
My teaching method is solely to target the weakest points for the student and make that the focal point of the lessons whilst also doing some practise on parts they are confident with to ensure that they remain confident in those areas.
I have a passion for my subject (Psychology) and I am also very familiar with online learning, as I have been an online student myself. I work methodically and according to my students` pace and goals.
Hi Humanities and Arts Student- Anthropology and History geek here and at your service! I'm offering online or face to face support in a GCSE and A Level in Arts and Humanities subjects.
I love giving students different approach on topics they need help with. I then ask them to create a good Argument.
I can use my own notes/revision and textbooks as I have lots of helpful resources, and I know how difficult A Levels can be
The lessons are specifically for AS and A2 level psychology students who seek exam preparation or general advice to help further progress and confidence in the subject. Having complete this A level recently I have many useful hand-outs and information to tackle the questions and am available to tailor the lessons to the individual and their personal needs.
I would first ask you what topics you feel to be the most difficult for you, I would then go through examples with you in great depth, where you could ask me many questions you may have. I would then give you an exercise to do or a worksheet, which you could do and ask me for any help while I'm there.
Before I studied Psychology I always came up with questions and wondered how I could come up with an answer, and I think this reflects my style of teaching.
My name is Daria, I have just finished my degree at City University of London (awaiting certification) in psychology. I studied psychology on my own before taking it for A-Levels and then progressing to degree level. Thanks to my teacher and my passion for this subject, I finished 6th Form with 4 A*-B grades, receiving an A* in Psychology.
I use psychological principles to inform the way I teach, such as those I’ve learnt through cognitive psychology (memory, learning, decision making) and clinical psychology (personal styles, barriers to study). I try to pick up on underlying challenges that a student is having with their work, so that they can not just improve their current work but continue to improve their future work.
I am currently studying Psychology (and some Sociology and Politics) at PhD level and would be able to tutor those subjects at college and undergradute level. I am a native German speaker. I excel at academic writing and can also help with general advice on essay or paper structures.
I am a psychology teacher (head of department) and SEN support teacher (across gcse curriculum) with first class honours in psychology from Birkbeck university. I specialise in 1:1 and small group learning. As a tutor, I can offer 1:1 lessons or group tuition (prices at a reduced rate per person) for students who would prefer to learn alongside a friend.
From my personal experience and from also tutoring other students I have found an almost universal trend- students who often need tutoring are not those lacking in intelligence. For many not reaching their true potential it is their mindset and approach to learning that lets them down.
I believe that every student needs a slightly different approach when it comes to tutoring - one size does not fit all.. However once I know what the students' objectives are, I will work with them to get the best outcome.
Hey, I'm an undergrad student offering lessons to GCSE students and AS Level students. My teaching style is based on the belief we are all sociologists! We must learn and grow within our selves in order to grasp the know-how to pass exams confidently. My Lessons will focus on helping you become more confident as a sociologist.
Hello reader! I am trained in Psychology, and currently pursuing my M.Sc. in Social and Cultura Psychology from the London School of Economics (LSE). My training has given me deep insight into human nature and our potentials as Homo sapiens. I have a hard time being preachy, so you're sure to like me. I am flexible so I could be a teacher, mentor or/and a friend.
My teaching method is quite flexible: it is whatever the individual requires the most. It does however, always involve going through current topics that they are learning, and using my knowledge to improve their understanding. I ask practise questions, and go through exams and questions continuously to better their knowledge.
