I am a First Class BSc Psychology and Counselling graduate happy to offer lessons, guidance and advice for people doing their A levels, or undergraduate degrees, and of course those simply interested in the field of Psychology and Therapy. The lessons will be focused on the learner's needs and will be changed and modified based on open, regular feedback and assessment of progress.
I am currently at Oxford Brookes studying Psychology and Music. I aspire to be a music therapist. I enjoy and love helping people understand things easily and I can explain how to answer exam questions in a simple way to get full marks.
My goal is to inspire and support my students. I have been teaching for 20 years and there is nothing I like to do more! I have taught at several universities as well as examining and tutoring for various A-level and GCSE Exam Boards. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I cover a broad range of social science subjects: Politics, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, and Citizenship.
I am a postgraduate student at Oxford that takes an interdisciplinary approach in my work. I have conducted independent and collaborative research funded by NASA and the National Science Foundation, and enjoy drawing from my academic and professional background while tutoring. I have a university background in geography, history, and environmental science, climate change, and anthropology.
I am capable of bringing out the best in my students using tried and tested methods gained over the course of my 10+ years as a professional private tutor.
- tutoring pupils who are primary, secondary, GCSE or AS Level students - lesson structures would be created uniquely to a pupil, as everyone learns differently - i have a passion for History and English and exhume said passion through teaching and helping others
I base my classes on questions the student has, working through class work that they may not have understood or need clarification on. I think the best way to revise is always to do past papers but going through them with someone who can explain when the student doesn't understand.
Before we start, I will send you a questionnaire to help determine the aims and means of our sessions. I prefer to engage students by way of questions and discussions, rather than by only dispensing information. Whenever possible abstract concepts and arguments will be applied to concrete examples to help with retention and extension.
I am a passionate tutor who since finishing my Masters degree in 2014 has continued to learn and develop my knowledge and skills set. I have been teaching privately for the past seven years, my experience ranges from one to one, home schooling, to teaching several students at once. I have experience teaching at GCSE/AS/A2 and undergraduate level, in addition I have covered all exam boards.
