I am a creative teacher who specialises in tailoring learning and resources to the learner's needs. My style? I find out what works for you and work to that, but there is always a clear structure for review and recap.

I have taught as a secondary school English teacher for 5 years. I tutor GCSE students regularly and offer support for KS3 English, GCSE English Language and Literature and A Level English Literature. I tailor the lessons to the individual needs of the student.
My approach to teaching English is creative. With specialist training in dyslexia awareness, I believe reading and writing can be de encrypted through poetry, rhyme and song to make learning not only educational, but entertaining and fun.
As English is based on a subjective system (there aren't any particular right or wrong answers) I prefer to assess the student's current technique, talk about what they think could be better and the aim is to find easy quick ways (that they will remember!) to pick up marks throughout the papers. Then, to implement these in various tasks and essays is essential.
My approach is a mixture of creativity, blended with tasks of real purpose, that are memorable for the child. I strongly believe that the child is far more likely to succeed, at learning a new skill set, when given tasks of real purpose and with a creative hook attached.
I treat, teach and get to k now every child as an individual which you can't do when 30 pupils in every class.
I am a Politics and International Relations graduate who has up until recently been working in Investment banking. I have been tutoring/mentoring for over 10 years and absolutely love working with children and adults equally. I have a passion for teaching and take great pleasure in helping people learn new things, especially if they have struggled previously.
My teaching method depends on what suits the individual, I am very flexible and have a variety of methods to suit different people. I base my classes on techniques I have learned via self-teaching and revision over the years and from mentoring students - little and often seems to work very well with most incorporating some aspect of fun - focusing on valuable skills needed for exams and tests.
I work primarily up to A level for English, Religious Education/Philosophy and Ethics and History. I have found that the best way to encourage learning and understanding is by encouraging discussion, debate and teaching back. It also helps to foater critical thinking and analysis skills.
I work to the needs of my students so I do not have a set way of teaching, I make sure the students fully understand and enjoy what they are doing no matter what it takes! I have an A Level in English Literature soon to begin my Degree, I put my heart and soul into my work and want to share my passion with others!
