I believe that every student has a learning technique that works best for them. It's important to establish technique and what type of learner they are, whether this is visual, kinaesthetic or auditory. The lessons would then be structured around this to ensure that they get the most out of the session.
I like to start of the session recapping the work we did last session to ensure that everything was understood and that the student is constantly keeping on top of the workload, learning as we go through rather than all at once.
I am a student who is currently studying A Levels in English Literature, History, Religious Studies and Spanish. I have experience with tutoring friends - I recently tutored one of my closest friends and from her mocks to her GCSES this year we were able to get her from a D to a B in a matter of months.
At GCSES I achieved 4 A*s (one of which was RS), 3 A's and 2 B's.
