About Nish
My name is Nish, and I am an 18-year-old A-Level student, currently studying Mathematics, Computer Science, and Chemistry with predicted grades of A*AA. I achieved GCSE grades of 9,9,9,9,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8, including Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Statistics and Chemistry GCSEs. My academic record demonstrates my ability to understand and excel in both subjects I now want to help others with.
Beyond my qualifications, I bring real-world experience that has shaped my communication and leadership skills. As a Senior Prefect at Woking High School, I led student council initiatives, helped organise school-wide events, and worked closely with staff and students to improve the school community. I also serve as Events and Charities Manager for my college Student Union, where I planned fundraising campaigns, coordinated teams, and promoted events face-to-face to hundreds of people. These roles taught me how to adapt my communication style, stay calm under pressure, and explain ideas clearly to different audiences.
I have also developed reliability and attention to detail through work experience at a software testing company, where I observed how professionals work to tight deadlines and learned the importance of precision. As a library volunteer, I provided friendly customer service and helped plan community events, further strengthening my interpersonal skills.
I am passionate about education and genuinely enjoy helping others succeed. I am patient, approachable, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that every student learns differently, and I am flexible in adapting my approach to suit individual needs.
Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, playing tennis, and following Formula 1. I also designed and built a full-stack Formula 1 race prediction tool using Python and SQLite, which reflects my enthusiasm for problem-solving and technology.

My tutoring approach is entirely student-centred and tailored to the subject. For every new student, I begin with a diagnostic session to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and target grade. From there, I create a personalised plan that focuses on the topics they find most challenging.
For Chemistry, I break down complex ideas - like moles, electrolysis, bonding, and organic reactions - into simple, logical steps using diagrams, mnemonics, and real-world examples to make them stick.
For Mathematics, I focus on building strong foundational understanding before moving to problem-solving. I break down topics like algebra, trigonometry, ratios, and statistics into clear, manageable steps. I emphasise understanding the "why" behind formulae so students can apply them confidently to any question.
Each lesson typically lasts one hour, which I find is the perfect length to maintain focus while covering enough content to make meaningful progress. A typical session includes a quick recap of previous learning, introducing new content with clear explanations, guided practice, and independent exam-style questions to consolidate understanding.
I use past papers so students become familiar with different question styles and mark schemes. We focus heavily on exam technique: how to interpret command words, structure longer-answer questions, and avoid common mistakes that cost marks. I also teach time management strategies so students feel confident working under exam conditions.
While I am new to formal tutoring, my qualifications speak for themselves: Grades 9s and 8s in 12 GCSEs and I am currently predicted A*AA at A-Level, including Chemistry and Maths A-Levels. My experience of the GCSE system means I know both syllabuses inside out and understand the pressure students face.
My lessons are designed for GCSE students (ages 14–16) of all abilities in the Woking area. Whether you are aiming for a Grade 4 to pass or pushing for a Grade 9, I adapt my teaching to suit your level and learning style. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to helping every student build both knowledge and confidence.
