About Valentina
Hello! My name is Valentina and I’m a passionate bilingual educator from Colombia, certified to teach in both North Carolina and Delaware. I hold a degree in Mathematics Education from the Universidad de los Andes, one of the most prestigious universities in Colombia. Math has always been more than numbers to me—it's a language that helps us make sense of the world. My greatest joy as a teacher is helping students discover that math can be fun, meaningful, and even empowering. I have over six years of experience teaching math. In Colombia, I taught at Colegio San Patricio, Colegio Bilingüe Real Americano, and Colegio Colombo Hebreo—three schools that gave me the opportunity to work with diverse student populations in bilingual settings. In the United States, I’ve taught at East Millbrook Magnet Middle School in North Carolina. I’ve had the privilege of supporting multilingual and neurodivergent learners, and I believe deeply in meeting each student where they are. My classes are interactive, creative, and designed to show that math is not just about getting the right answer—it’s about thinking critically, solving problems, and building confidence. I love designing engaging activities that connect math to real life, using visuals, games, and inquiry-based strategies that spark curiosity. Whether I’m teaching ratios, geometry, or word problems, my goal is always to make students feel capable, heard, and excited to learn. Outside of teaching, I enjoy science, rock music, and caring for my pets—a cat named Tesla and a puppy named Apollo. I look forward to helping you or your child grow in math with joy and purpose!
