About Kelly
Hi there! I'm Kelly Smith or as my students call me 'Ms.Smitty.'
I think some students can be intimidated by English class because there is no 'right' or 'wrong' answer. Instead, English is about making comparisons and voicing how you interpreted the story. I try my best to help students feel empowered with the skills to do that confidently and to express themselves well, whether in conversation or in their writing.
Most of my current students say that I am kind and patient, but still hold high expectations. This helps ensure that my students rise to their potential while feeling supported by me.

Hello! I am currently a full-time middle school English teacher who is licensed to teach middle and high school. I have been in the classroom 3 years and prior to that I volunteer taught ESL adults.
I try to personalize the lessons per student and make sure they're getting the support they need! I can help with anything from text analysis, writing development, essay development or just learning the basics of the English language.
