About Gayle
Graduating from Lighthouse Labs and holding a BSc in Math provided the foundation for my transition into a career at a Toronto startup. The smell of fresh coffee and the hum of a keyboard at 2 AM became my environment while I mastered JavaScript, Python, and backend APIs.
I now guide adults learning from scratch and high-schoolers chasing CS degrees at Waterloo, U of T, or UBC through algorithms, data structures, and Git version control. Debugging is my specialty.
It keeps things simple. I have taught 205 students to think like engineers by utilizing project-based learning and rigorous interview preparation. Let me know if you would like to start a session sometime soon.

Watching a student finally run a script that works after an hour of persistent debugging is the highlight of my week. My lessons are built on 8 years of industry work, applying the same precision I used at my startup to your specific programming roadblocks. We spend our time building projects, reviewing core algorithms, and dissecting API calls to ensure you understand exactly how the machine executes your code. My background as a career-switcher allows me to skip the fluff and focus on the technical habits that actually land jobs at places like Shopify.
After every class, you will complete a hands-on mini project that reinforces the syntax or logic we just covered. These 10 lessons are designed to be challenging but completely achievable for anyone willing to put in the work. I look forward to seeing the code you produce.
