About Julie
I am a qualified (B Ed) teacher with many years experience of teaching in primary schools.
I enjoy teaching literacy and numeracy, helping children succeed and gain confidence.
I am not working at the moment (since July 2018) and so am flexible about the times I work.
I can tutor in my own home or in yours.
I have a recent DPS certificate.

I teach basic literacy and numeracy to KS1 children, help children with specific difficulties such as dyslexia and teach higher level skills to children in KS2. I have taught and assessed children for KS1 and 2 SATs so am very aware of the curriculum and it's expectations.
I tailor my teaching to suit the needs of each individual child. I talk first to the parents and then the child. I make an assessment of the child's current ability, strengths and areas of concern and plan my teaching to take into account the child's learning style and interests. I can set homework for between sessions.

There will be an addition cost of £5 per session if the travelling time from my home usually exceeds 15 minutes.
Sessions cancelled with less then 24 hours notice will be charged for at the hourly rate.
