About Owais
As a Gallaudet alumni, I studied Communication Studies as a major, as well as Digital Media and Family Studies minor degrees. Part of my passion is to always try to listen, to research and analyze negative things, and transform them into positives for our sake and for our future generations. I have been exposed to, and have seen, a lot of problems in our communities.
After graduation, I decided to go traveling all over the world to see different cultures and volunteer to grow my career and my path. It was a privilege to socialize, to give back to communities, to share, and to learn for almost two years so many different things, to share thoughts and ideas, to share adventures, likes and dislikes, and to learn from people’s knowledge and struggles. In order for us to grow positively, understanding struggles, experiences, opportunities, and confidence with others and ourselves is a critical step. It's part of our mental health journey.
The purpose of all the effort and hard work is to improve deaf education and the community, and make it continue growing to be a part of a healthy and equal system. That is something I greatly want to be a part of.
