About Corbin
I have been part of choir, theater, and debate all 4 years of my high school career. This has put me down a path of self-expression and high levels of communication. Since I was a freshman, I have wanted to be a lawyer, and I did everything I could in high school to prepare for that. I have excelled in all three areas. I have received seven good medals in choir, been part of the highest choir in my school for three years, and was invited to participate in all the district choirs two times. These experiences have furthered my understanding of history, expression, and communication. Choir furthers my love of acting and singing; within the theater, I have been part of three productions and been the lead in one of them. Productions are challenging because of the overwhelming need for scheduling and time commitments. Both of these factors have allowed me to grow as a person in terms of communication and scheduling. These skills will translate well into my career in law and communication. I have also received the highest distinction in debate from the National Speech and Debate organization; this award came from years of commitment and achievement, including two conference titles, two district championships, and qualifying for nationals four times. These experiences were because of my love for research and argumentation, strong work ethic, and passion for change. The skills I have learned and picked up all came together this year when I got an internship in a professional studies program through my school. I got into an internship at King Law Group. This law firm deals explicitly with immigration, and this opportunity has been very fulfilling. I can help and have an impact on people's lives. I mainly deal with research, and in my almost 70 hours here, I have helped with 5 cases and done the bulk of research for them. These experiences within that research opened my point of view to a whole new lens that has allowed me to find empathy for situations I may not have seen before. It has also shown me my immense privilege while living in America. These factors have led me to one common factor: I want to help people.

Everyone can give a persuasive speech. Speech is part of everything you do and is very important to learn! When I first started, I was very nervous and didn't know how or what to say, but with the right help, I overcame that, and now I have seen great success. Typically I will start with just listening to you give a general speech or something you have prepared, or I will read it. Then, we will dive right in. Anything you're having issues with, we can help you figure that out together. I am happy to help anyone on a high school level and even those in college. I love to talk, so even if you are not dead set on me, we can schedule a time to figure out what is best for you!
