About Cristina
Hi, I'm Cree! I've been crocheting for years — self-taught through a lot of trial, error, and unraveled rows — and amigurumi is where I keep coming back to. There's something satisfying about turning a ball of yarn into a little creature with a face and a personality.
I teach total beginners because I remember exactly how confusing it felt to start: magic rings that didn't close right, stitch counts that mysteriously changed halfway through a round, and patterns full of abbreviations that looked like a secret code. My lessons go at your pace, with no assumption that you've ever picked up a hook before. Mistakes are normal and part of learning — I'll help you understand why something went sideways instead of just telling you to rip it out and start over.
If you've always wanted to make your own stuffed animals and characters but didn't know where to start, I'll walk you through it calmly, one stitch at a time, until it clicks.

What we'll work on: Amigurumi crochet from the very beginning — no prior crochet experience needed. We'll start with the basics and build toward your first complete amigurumi piece.
How lessons work: Each session is hands-on and unhurried. Rather than drilling stitches in isolation, we work toward an actual finished amigurumi, so every skill you learn gets used right away on something real.
A typical progression covers:
Getting comfortable with a hook and yarn, and understanding the handful of tools amigurumi actually needs (no need to buy a huge kit up front)
The core stitches amigurumi is built on — magic ring, single crochet, increases and decreases — repeated until they feel natural
Working in a continuous spiral (a very different feel from most beginner crochet, so we take it slow)
Reading an amigurumi pattern without getting lost in the abbreviations
Stuffing, shaping, and assembling pieces so your finished amigurumi actually looks like what you pictured
Troubleshooting the classic beginner snags — losing count mid-round, uneven tension, gaps where stuffing peeks through
Who this is for: Total beginners with zero crochet experience who want a calm, patient introduction — no judgment about starting from scratch, and no rushing toward "advanced" projects before you're ready.
