About Jonathan

My teaching philosophy is centered around the belief that education is not just about imparting knowledge, but also about shaping individuals to become confident, articulate, and thoughtful members of society. Here’s how I embody this philosophy:

Professionalism: I maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions, ensuring that I am always prepared, punctual, and respectful. This sets a standard for students to emulate in their own pursuits.

Attention to Detail: I believe that the devil is in the details. Whether it’s in the nuances of phonics or the intricacies of spelling, a meticulous approach helps students understand the depth of the English language.

Friendly and Kind: A warm and approachable demeanor creates a safe learning environment where students feel valued and are more willing to engage and take risks in their learning.

Availability: Being readily available for my students signifies my commitment to their education. It’s important for them to know that I am there to support them whenever they need assistance.

Knowledge of Subjects: My extensive knowledge in English, phonics, and spelling is the foundation of my teaching. Continuous learning ensures that I stay informed and can provide the best education possible.

Experience: Having interned as a tutor for two and a half years, I’ve developed a keen understanding of the challenges and triumphs of learning. This experience allows me to tailor my teaching methods to each student’s needs.

Success Stories: Witnessing students’ grades improve and their spelling prowess grow is incredibly rewarding. These accomplishments are a testament to their hard work and the effectiveness of our collaborative learning approach.

Confidence Building: I focus on building students’ confidence in their work, which in turn fosters self-confidence. This is crucial for public speaking, where clear enunciation and correct pronunciation are key.

Efficient Learning: My goal is to equip students with the skills to spell words efficiently and correctly, which is fundamental for writing coherent papers, essays, and sentences.

Ultimately, my philosophy is about empowering students to be confident in their abilities, to speak confidently in front of others, and to take pride in their academic achievements. It’s about guiding them to be independent learners who are curious, resilient, and prepared for the challenges ahead.
