About Jack
After completing Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Biology A-levels, I pursued a Bachelor & Master’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Manchester, from which I have recently graduated. I specialised in applications of hyperbolic geometry and fluid dynamics.
As a grammar school graduate, I tailor lessons to meet the needs and requirements of individual students to give them the best possible chance in their applications and entrance examinations.

I have delivered one-to-one tuition as well as small class teaching for the past eight years in both maths and verbal/non-verbal reasoning focusing on 11+ and 13+ and helping students to secure grammar and independent school places. I believe that successful learning stems from understanding key mathematical concepts and then proceeding to apply these notions in a wide and varied range of applications in order to reinforce one's knowledge. I have taught students across a range of abilities and ages. In addition, I have tutored students online ensuring I use the best online learning tools available.

Perfect! Jack is an extremely efficient, dedicated and hard-working tutor with an encyclopedic knowledge of maths and a very friendly and mild mannered approach towards his students. He encourages analysis and evaluation in his lessons rather than going through the motions and a script when covering topics. he’s extremely committed and devoted to the student and exhibits a personal interest in helping his students attain the grades that they are aiming for. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Jack quickly established rapport with my son. He teaches with sensitivity, insight and is very thorough. Jack's clearly a highly experienced tutor, who I would not hesitate to recommend.
Jack is a fantastic tutor, he helped boost my confidence and is incredibly knowledgeable. He is excellent at explaining concepts and makes even the most difficult things seem easy. Very patient and understanding, also very professional.
My daughter in grade 10 has been falling further behind with her maths so I decided to book some one-on-one tuition for her to bring her grades up from Cs and Ds. Although there were lots of tutors to choose from, most seemed to lack any credible qualifications, or their semi-literate intros inspired no confidence at all. Jack stood out because he has a Masters degree in maths from a top-tier Russell Group university! I looked in on his lessons and he was so patient and understood the material so well that I knew I'd made the right choice. At the end of last term, my daughter got her Probability maths test back with an A. What an improvement - I could not have hoped for more!! Thank you Jack!
