I am very keen to understand why my student wants to learn English and what sorts of things interest them. This enables me to use learning approaches and materials that will help student to enjoy their learning and develop confidence. I use a range of approaches to see what suits each student best.
I have a PGCE and MEd in teaching English as a foreign lanaguage and I have worked in colleges in the UK for over twenty years. I am bilingual and love finding or making learning materials for my students. I have also worked in writing and publishing educational materials for schools.

I love cycling, doing my yoga classes and going for walks with friends in the countryside. Writing short stories and plays for learners of English is another abiding interest. As an independent feminist researcher, I continue to engage passionately with areas of interest in sociolinguistics, cultural anthropology and philosophy.
