About Lada
I have played the piano since the age of four. My formal musical education began at a specialist music school in Latvia and continued at Aberdeen City Music School (ACMS). I later completed Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music at the University of Aberdeen, specialising in performance and composition.
My recent achievements include First Prize in Piano Repertoire at the Inverness Music Festival and Third Prize at the 2024 Orbetello International Piano Competition in Italy. I continue to work as an active performing pianist and bring my professional performing experience to every lesson.
My ambition is to shape disciplined, independent and distinctive musicians who have the potential to become outstanding artists of their generation. This vision will ultimately form the foundation of my own piano academy.

My teaching focuses on the essence of music: quality of sound, phrasing, expression, structure and stylistic understanding. I want students to do more than simply play the correct notes. I teach them to listen critically, understand the musical material and communicate its character with confidence.
I maintain high standards and expect students to practise regularly between lessons, because meaningful progress requires commitment. At the same time, I teach students how to practise effectively by developing memory, analytical thinking and quick problem-solving skills. We identify the causes of mistakes and work on correcting them efficiently and independently. I am kind, patient and respectful, while also being honest and demanding when I know a student is capable of more.
