About Apurva
Hi! I'm Apurva, a Master's graduate in Sociology from South Asian University, where I was awarded a Merit Scholarship for academic excellence. I completed my BA (Research) in Sociology at Shiv Nadar University, graduating with consistently high grades and an A in my undergraduate thesis.
Alongside academics, I've been a national-level tennis player, representing my university at All India University tournaments and competing at the state and national levels. Tennis has taught me discipline, resilience and the value of consistent hard work, qualities I bring into my teaching.
I believe sociology is one of the most exciting subjects because it helps us understand the world we live in. My classes are interactive, discussion-based and tailored to each student's learning style. Rather than encouraging memorization, I focus on building strong concepts, improving academic writing and helping students think critically.

I believe sociology is best understood through discussion, curiosity and real-life examples rather than memorization. My classes focus on building strong concepts by connecting sociological theories to everyday life, making the subject engaging and easier to understand. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically and develop their own perspectives instead of simply learning answers for exams.
A typical class begins by understanding the topic and the student's goals, followed by concept-based explanations, discussions, and practice with previous questions or assignments where needed. I also help students improve their academic writing, essay structure and research skills.
My classes are suitable for school students, undergraduate and postgraduate students studying sociology, as well as anyone interested in understanding society through a sociological lens. I adapt every lesson to the student's pace and learning style to make the subject enjoyable and meaningful.
