I believe in working through problems to gauge the area most in need of support, then addressing that topic. Strong foundations in the sciences is key to understanding more complex problems, whilst stimulating different learning styles to ensure the information sticks!
I am a graduate of Durham University with a first class honours integrated masters degree in Natural Sciences - having studied Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
I have experience tutoring fellow academics and both primary and secondary school children, especially having grown up as the oldest of two other siblings. I am currently in the midst of tutoring my younger sister for her mathematics and science GCSES.

Personal skills
Travel
Completed a solo 7-month trip around the world in 2018, an ambition of mine since a young age, requiring extensive planning, stringent budgeting, determination and above all passion to experience many cultures and environments over a relatively short period.
Extensively well-travelled with numerous trips to Europe, though most notably are my 2 months interrailing around Europe as part of a group, requiring good time management skills and planning.
Sport
Rowing – Having rowed for 4 years whilst at university. Originally as a novice, I worked my way up into the senior first VIII boat, winning at numerous competitions across the country and competing for the university at BUCS, HORR and internationally at the Heineken Roeivierkamp. This required grit and high punctuality to train as early as 5am every day, whilst teamwork was imperative to a successful boat.
Athletics – I have been involved at club, county and university level necessitating the discipline to train regularly and compete at numerous events. During this time, I also coached, resulting in me being granted the Junior Sports Leadership Award.
Football - A passion of mine, I have played at all levels from socially to county level competing at national tournaments. My team was successful, winning multiple trophies.
Pool - Captain of the college pool team, I was responsible for organising fixtures and assembling the team. Whilst in this role I oversaw 2 consecutive promotions.
Volunteering
A volunteer having enjoyed taking part in conservation and sustainability programs in New Zealand, Australia and Thailand whilst travelling the world in 2018. I have also taken part in numerous runs for charity in the UK such as ‘The Great Knaresborough Bed Race’ amongst others.
Languages and Literature
Studied Spanish during my final year of university as an extra module to basic proficiency, continuing with the aim to be able to speak fluently in the future.
Remain avidly interested in the sciences; spending my free time reading literature, particularly subjects concerning astrophysics and sustainability.
