I am dually credentialed to teach in New York State and have over 5 years of experience working with students of grades K-8 and ample experience teaching high school. I have a passion for teaching literacy in individual and small group settings. I am a proponent of culturally responsive teaching: allowing students to ask questions and empowering them to come to their own conclusions/answers. I have several years of experience teaching literacy as an ENL teacher and English Language Arts co-teacher using anchor texts, text-based questions, RACCE responses, and creating avenues for students to practice all four modalities (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) of language.
