About Sam
I want to teach because I believe education is one of the most powerful tools for change—both personal and societal. My journey through journalism, filmmaking, and data work has shown me the value of clear communication, critical inquiry, and evidence-based understanding. Teaching allows me to bring these skills together in a meaningful way: to help students think deeply, express themselves confidently, and make sense of a complex world. With a Master’s degree in Education, I’ve developed a strong pedagogical foundation, but it’s the real-world application of knowledge that excites me most. I want to teach to empower learners to ask questions, solve problems, and connect what they learn in the classroom to their lives beyond it. I’ve seen firsthand how the right support can change a student’s trajectory. Teaching gives me the chance to be that support—someone who encourages curiosity, builds capability, and helps students discover their own potential. Ultimately, I want to teach because it’s where my skills, values, and purpose align

Why Choose Me as Your Tutor? With a Master’s degree in Education and a unique background spanning journalism, filmmaking, and data analysis, I bring a dynamic, real-world approach to tutoring that goes beyond textbooks. My teaching style is student-centered, adaptive, and focused on fostering critical thinking, creativity, and academic confidence. As a former journalist, I excel at clear communication, research, and helping students build strong literacy and analytical skills. My filmmaking experience enhances my ability to present content visually and creatively—ideal for visual learners or students who need more engaging ways to absorb information. And my work with data means I have a strong grasp of numeracy and problem-solving, which I use to tailor lessons and track progress effectively. Whether you're looking to boost writing skills, understand complex ideas, or sharpen your math and data interpretation, I design lessons that meet students where they are and help them get where they want to be. If you're seeking a knowledgeable, approachable, and innovative tutor who can connect academic success with real-world relevance, I’d be proud to work with you
