I like to start off with clear objectives to aim to complete by the end of the lesson and try to make it engaging, so the student will be switched on and comprehend the information. A short quiz will be at the start of each lesson based on the previous session and at the end of each lesson to consolidate the information and ensure all is understood.
Recently new tutor with experience in teaching younger GSCE students while studying A Levels. Led a tutoring group at Walbottle Campus, where I would spend my dinner time when appropriate and after school for an hour with a range of students from those struggling with mathematics to those aiming for the top grades.

While in six form I was the manager for my EES (Engineering Education Scheme) team. This meant that I had to have great leadership skills to motivate and organise my team to do specific tasks. This was a great experience to understand what overseeing a group of people would be like.
Throughout growing up I learned a lot about teamwork, the first being the captain for my football team. This meant that even if things were not going my way I would have to come together with my team and be able to try and change things to make them right. Another time I showed great teamwork was when I was selected by my school to be in a group of four to take part in the matholympics. This meant that we had to have good teamwork and communication throughout the questions and allocate tasks to eachother to be able to compete with the other schools.
When I applied for university, I had to write up an EPQ on a topic of my choice this had to be a minimum of 5,000 and completed before April to be sent away and marked. This meant that during my year of studying and attending lessons I had to manage my time to complete my project. From this I learnt how to meet deadlines sufficiently and have good time schedules during the day to be able to finish all that I wanted.
