About George

Hi there! My name is George and I have just finished my maths degree at Loughborough University. I've always been interested in maths which is probably why I ended up studying it at university! Exams at school were always nerve-wracking, but putting in the work beforehand helped me so much. This is why I want to help students to prepare them to do the best they can. I found making the content of my revision as fun as possible was a key factor in my exams going well. They could be things like studying with friends or using rewards. All sorts!

I like to teach students in a way that makes the content seem less confusing and easy to grasp. I like to engage with the students as much as possible and spend time going through past paper questions. I found these to be an amazing tool to revise from as your confidence in answering questions just builds up and up.

About the lesson

Once I identify what topics the student wants to go over, or what topics they lack strength in, I will prepare lessons with past paper questions and equip the student in the best possible way to tackle the questions. I will guide the student through the questions in a constructive way so that it's the student doing the learning. I found that maths is a subject that can be easy to be discouraged from as it can sometimes be difficult. This is why I like to start with questions on the topic that the student can get a grasp of and not feel overwhelmed. This allows the student to flourish which is gratifying as a tutor.
