About Christopher
I have worked as a part time lecturer for the University of Maine and as a classroom teacher. I have over 7 years of professional experience in both large and small classroom settings in addition to 1-on-1 tutoring and mathematics counseling work. I'm passionate about teaching through patient communication and collaboration with students to help them work through mathematics problems relevant to their classes, interests, and career goals.

My usual teaching method utilizes showing students examples, starting with applications of the most basic concepts and progressing to more complex problems they are likely to encounter on assessments. Once sufficient examples are given, I like to let students work through similar examples, again starting with simple ideas and progressing. I carefully watch this process to catch and eliminate sticking points in logic and fill in gaps in knowledge. I am very adaptable and open to students ideas - if you learn in a particular way or prefer certain methods that I use (or don't use) to others, then you can just let me know and I will try to adapt to your needs.
