About Shane
I'm a maths and physics tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students build confidence in challenging subjects. I hold a degree in Theoretical Physics (MSci) from UCL. I really enjoy seeing students make progress over time—whether it’s grasping a concept that once felt impossible or achieving the grades they were aiming for. It’s incredibly rewarding to support that journey and watch confidence grow along the way. Whether you're preparing for GCSEs, A-levels, or university entrance exams, I tailor each lesson to your needs—breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment that encourages curiosity, builds understanding, and improves results.

I ensure my students thoroughly understand the topic I am teaching by first ensuring there is a clear logical flow from the topics they have learnt previously. Lessons typically consist of me explaining the topic to them, then we try some questions together. Eventually once comfortable I will let them try questions alone and test them under timed conditions. Typical length of a lesson is 1-2h. I have 2 years experience as a tutor - I've taught at Varsity Tutors, ELITE Tuition and worked as a mentor during University. Lessons are aimed at anyone above the age of 15. I teach anywhere from GCSE to university-level.
