About Eli
My fascination with mathematics grew from curiosity about patterns, problem-solving, and logical structures in nature and technology. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematics and an M.Sc in Computational Mathematics, combining theoretical depth with applied problem-solving skills. Over 9 years of teaching, I have guided students of all levels—from beginners developing foundational skills to advanced learners preparing for competitions, exams, or research. My philosophy focuses on helping learners develop conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and confidence while enjoying the learning process.
I teach with clarity, patience, and adaptability, using step-by-step explanations, visualisations, and applied exercises to make concepts tangible and memorable. I encourage questions, exploration, and independent thinking, fostering analytical reasoning alongside technical skill. Lessons emphasise understanding why mathematical principles work, cultivating long-term comprehension and problem-solving confidence.
Outside the classroom, I engage with applied mathematics, computational modelling, and problem-solving projects. By integrating contemporary examples and real-world applications into lessons, students can see mathematics in action. Witnessing learners grow from uncertainty to mastery, gaining confidence, curiosity, and analytical ability, is deeply fulfilling. I emphasise critical thinking, pattern recognition, and logical reasoning over memorisation. Each session integrates visual explanations, illustrative examples, and multi-step exercises that cultivate curiosity, independent exploration, and confidence in tackling challenging problems.
Lesson plans are tailored to each learner’s abilities. Beginners explore arithmetic, basic algebra, and geometry to build a strong foundation. Intermediate students work on calculus, probability, combinatorics, and multi-step problem-solving to enhance analytical thinking. Advanced learners dive into abstract algebra, optimisation, applied modelling, and complex problem-solving for academic competitions, exams, or research projects. Exercises, discussions, and real-world applications reinforce comprehension, retention, and problem-solving skills while keeping lessons engaging and approachable.
