About Alice
I’m a third-year chemistry student at McGill University, fluent in both French and English, allowing me to offer tutoring in either language. Having completed my CEGEP studies in Science et Génie, I have a strong understanding of math, from introductory math level to integrals, derivatives and ordinary differential equations, as well as their applications in physics and other applied sciences. As I’m majoring in chemistry, I’m also very comfortable with chemistry-related topics. I believe in the potential of every student to thrive and succeed with the right support and motivation. My goal is to create an encouraging, supportive environment where students feel confident in their ability to tackle complex material and excel in their studies.

As a tutor, my main goal is to help students truly understand the core concepts. I start by listening to them and figuring out what they already understand. Once I know where they’re struggling, I explain the concepts step-by-step, breaking everything down into clear, manageable pieces. Whether it's a chemistry reaction or a math problem, this approach ensures no steps are missed.
After I explain a concept, the student tries solving problems on their own while explaining each step they’re taking. This helps me see how they’re thinking and where they might be going wrong. I focus a lot on communication and exchange, encouraging students to talk through their thought process so I can adjust my teaching to their way of understanding.
I always try to make learning interactive, using simple steps to help students get comfortable with challenging material. My lessons are for primary to CEGEP students who need help with math and chemistry, whether it's basic concepts or more advanced topics.
