About Cole
My name is Cole, and I've been in your shoes! I received both remedial and enrichment tutoring before and through my college career, and I believe that teaching is the best way to learn. I was able to coach myself through both the College and Law School application processes and can help you achieve your goals. Below is a recap of my Tutoring and Academic History Tutoring History: I've tutored students at all levels, ranging from 2nd-grade math all the way up to College-Level Differential Equations. I've also taught Computer Science Classes in the Indiana Public School System to high-achieving students, and currently serve as a Graduate-Level TA in the Engineering Management Department at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Academic History: I graduated from High School Summa Cum Laude with an AP Capstone Diploma on the STEM & Music Academy tracks. I currently attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where I am earning my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Minor in Anthropology, and have been named to the Dean's List multiple times. This Fall, I will be attending the University of New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce School of Law on an 80% tuition Merit Scholarship to pursue my Juris Doctor degree in Intellectual Property & Patent Law. Here's what a tutoring session with me can look like:
Part 1: Catching up on life
I believe that having a constructive relationship with your tutor makes learning easier and fun! Having a positive rapport helps communicate thoughts and ideas more fluently.
Part 2: Homework Review (HR)
Any practice problems we chose together I'll take a look at and either help you understand where you went wrong, or congratulate you for getting it right!
Part 3: Topical Challenge (TC)
Part of my Homework assignments are bringing to me what you're struggling with or what you need help with. I won't do your homework or exams for you, but I will teach you the skills necessary for you to succeed. This is open-ended for guided practice, introducing new topics, or going over custom slides.
Part 4: Final Questions & Review (FQR)
If you aren't feeling confident on a topic, this is your chance to ask me for help! This is a catch all for anything not covered in HR or TC.
