About Pwhlee
I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I have always loved reading and writing, and I still do. Whether it's fiction, blogs, or academic essays, I've always enjoyed the challenge of putting thoughts into words so that other people can engage with my ideas. That is why I chose to do a double major in English and Philosophy for my undergraduate program, which gave me plenty of essay-writing experience, and I'm still not tired of writing!
I also love philosophy, and our lessons will likely consist of you practicing expressing your thoughts and being challenged by counter-examples and debate. I am also happy to help you with specific assignments. I won't give you any answers or do your writing for you, but we'll work together so that you can produce the best work possible!

After the student has identified what they believe their weaknesses are, we will work together to strengthen those weak points through lessons, practice, and examples. I don't believe in completing assignments or giving answers to students. I ask questions, engage with the student, and help them recognize the solution themselves.
How am I different from other tutors? I believe in a holistic approach; students should understand why they are learning what they are learning and how these skills will help them become independent and successful adults. I offer mentorship in the academic subject of English and also what it means to be a diligent student prepared for the challenges beyond high school. I believe it's important to think about the future, so that you can prepare for it today, whatever the end goal may be.
I have been told that I am different from other tutors because of my philosophical background. A couple of parents have told me they appreciate my approach in getting students to think about things differently, and to practice expressing them in a clear and rational way. I think the biggest value in improving one's literacy is the ability to express your thoughts clearly and convincingly. This is a key communication skill that will help students succeed regardless of what industry they are in.
I am best suited for high school and undergraduate students.
