I am an accredited English professional tutor with over five years of experience in teaching English to learners of various levels and backgrounds. I have a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from a reputable institution and a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. - Assess the learner’s current level of English proficiency and identify their goals and needs.
- Choose a suitable curriculum or textbook that covers the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
Plan each lesson with clear objectives, activities and materials that are appropriate for the learner’s level and interests.
- Start each lesson with a warm-up activity that reviews previous learning or introduces a new topic.
- Teach new language items using a variety of methods, such as explanations, examples, drills, games, dialogues, etc.
- Provide ample opportunities for the learner to practice the new language items in meaningful contexts, such as conversations, role-plays, stories, etc.
- Give feedback and correction on the learner’s performance, both during and after the practice activities.
- End each lesson with a summary of what was learned and a homework assignment that reinforces the learning outcomes.
- Monitor the learner’s progress and adjust the lesson plan accordingly.
- Encourage the learner to use English outside the classroom, such as by watching movies, reading books, listening to podcasts, etc
