About Kartik
I am a first year medical student at Sheffield. I’m a super-friendly, student-centred tutor who focuses on active recall and clear, tailored explanations. I specialise in supporting Year 9–13 students, breaking down difficult concepts so that anyone can understand them. I create a positive, confidence-building learning environment and enjoy helping students reach their full potential. Outside tutoring, I love hiking and exploring new trails.

About the lesson

I begin each lesson by identifying the student’s current level of understanding in a certain topic, then tailor my explanations and examples to match their learning style, until they have a better understanding. I like to incorporate active recall, through past paper questions that are specific to what has just been taught. A typical lesson usually lasts 45 minutes, but I won't finish until I'm happy that the student has fully understood what's necessary. I also like to give extra past paper questions to do in free time that we can then go over in a future lesson. I have professionally tutored GCSE students in Maths, and also helped out many of my friends during A-levels, helping mainly with understanding difficult concepts by explaining them in easy to understand way.
