About Laura
I have worked as a high school English teacher, teaching freshmen and seniors. I have a B.S. in English/Writing, and am currently attending Grad School for my MFA in Writing. While I specialize in writing, I have a strong background in literary and rhetorical analysis. Analysis is all about answering the what and the why. What is the author saying and why are they saying it. My goal after finishing my MFA is to be a full-time instructor at a college or university in literature and creative writing.

I am here to help. We will work in a scaffolding method, breaking large and overwhelming assignments into smaller pieces, making them less intimidating and easier to manage. The scaffolding approach can be adapted to any writing project. I also employ a self-feedback process, allowing students to evaluate their own work so they can become familiar with their strengths and weaknesses. Ideal for high school or low-level English college classes such as English 101 or Intro to writing.
