  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Teaching is a job like no other, and once you start doing it, you realize how highly skilled it all is. My organizational skills and confidence have improved. Many people work to live, but the rewarding nature means teachers get job satisfaction unmatched by most professions. I have always had a real passion for Excel, and the desire to pass this on to others and help young people develop was my main reason for deciding to train as a teacher.
  • How does your work help society?

As a teacher, I am responsible for shaping the future generations of the country. Excel plays an essential role in youth's lives, inspiring them, guiding them, instructing them, and helping them achieve their true potential.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

To me, a role model is someone who inspires me to do something or to develop further myself. I do not have one person as a role model, except for my parents. I have many people who inspired me and continue to do so. I would say that role models are everywhere. A friend that is facing many challenges to move forward, a colleague that despite everything is still being successful, an older person that does not stop learning new things and new technologies. We can find role models everywhere, and we need to see and get the best of them.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

One of my extracurricular activities is keeping up with my professional development and continuing education responsibilities. I keep up with my area of expertise through reading professional journals, attending seminars, and taking the occasional class, either online or in a traditional classroom.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

I have always been willing to do whatever is necessary to get the job done, but one time does stand out in my mind. Our team was preparing a proposal for a client. My team leader was ill and out of work. I jumped in to learn how to construct some complex macros in Excel to showcase some essential data and took the lead by creating presentation slides for our pitch.
I needed to work several evenings until midnight to get the work done in time while performing my regular job during the day. The client ended up accepting our proposal and praised our presentation's quality as a critical reason they went with us.
